  • Trip to Kiawah Island

"I was searching for a family vacation (wife, 23 & 25 year old daughters) and "they" selected Charleston. Why they wanted to leave Huntington Beach CA in the summer to go to S.C. - I don't know. But I gave in. And don't regret it one bit; well, I regret not taking my golf clubs. We picked this location first because of the proximity to the resort and beach; second because of the reviews. As soon I started communicating with the owner (Joy), I felt it was a great choice. She was pleasant to deal with and very eager to give us advice and things to do and places to get best prices. When we finally checked in - it was seamless. All the information was spot on. We must have a picked a quiet week because our car was the only one in our parking lot almost the whole week. The condo was private, quiet and comfortable. Location was awesome - right next to lagoon and short walk to beach. The interior of the condo was not as contemporary as some of the other condo's. But again, it was comfortable and well equipped. We definitely made ourselves at home right away and relaxed without worry. (Remember - three adult women in a two bedroom condo. What can go wrong there?) During our stay Joy continued to communicate with us via e-mail to make sure our trip was going well and if we needed anything; which we didn't. I have to say it was one of our more relaxing and enjoyable vacations in a while. We really look forward to a return trip to Kiawah Island like most of the other renters that have stayed at the condo multiple times. This time I will take the clubs and tennis rackets. Kids - maybe. Thanks Joy for a great vacation rental."

"Great interaction with Susie with tons of detail on the property, area, etc. Property was very nice and in a great location. Loved the bike trails, beach, pool. The services to the property are top notch. Everything was clean and as advertised. Deer in the back and just a beautiful time!"

  • Comfortable, beautiful, well-equipped place on Kiawah Island with ocean views! Heavenly!

"A dear friend and I hadn't seen each other in years and wanted a week to relax and catch up. This Kiawah Island property was perfect! The beach is just yards away. If you open the balcony doors, the sound of the waves will lure you down to the shore. The beach is wide, perfect for sunning, surf play, shell collecting, biking, walking, and jogging. The somewhat rustic exterior of the building blends in nicely with the natural environment but doesn't do justice to the quality, beauty and comfort of the apartment. The online photos reflect the interior decor accurately and it is a clean, light-filled, tastefully decorated two bedroom, two bath apartment. It is quiet at night with great beds and bedding. There are TVs throughout and it has up-to-date entertainment options for DVDs, iPods, and fast dependable WiFi for music, movies, and online life. Shawn and Jeanette of Kiawah Island Getaways were very easy to do business with and they have thought of practically everything. There's a stock of board games if you encounter a rainy day. There are flashlights for nighttime beach walks. The kitchen is spotless and well stocked and the Harris Teeter grocery at Freshfields Village, less than 3 miles away has everything, including a gourmet selection of cheeses, wines, and local produce. There are several local fresh seafood and produce markets or stands within a 10-mile radius. For a lazy morning, there's coffee and great grits, pancakes, waffles right across the parking lot at the Southern Kitchen. The golf courses, restaurants and luxurious Sanctuary (a must for a sunset drink and safe alligator watching!) at Kiawah Island are readily accessible from the apartment. Arrangements can be made through the hosts for bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, even a private chef! It's an easy drive to Charleston and Beaufort for remarkable history tours, architectural delights and great restaurants, such as the elegant Hall's Chophouse in Charleston, Wren in Beaufort, or the casual but delicious fare at Roadside Seafood on Folly Road. And there's the mysterious Angel Oak, which certainly gets added to the list of everyone's most memorable trees of a lifetime. I would definitely recommend this property to others. Everyone was super friendly. I look forward to a future visit. This property was a wonderful backdrop for us friends to reminisce about the past and build new memories of drives down Sea Island roadways shaded by timeless oaks dripping with Spanish moss."

  • A fantastic vacation at a charming cottage on Kiawah Island, SC.

"This charming, roomy cottage was a perfect place to relax and enjoy Kiawah for our party of six. The cottage was located very close to the ocean with easy access via a short walk across Eugenia to the boardwalk. It was clean, nicely layed out and wonderfully decorated for a beach vacation. Enjoyed our coffee & breakfast on the beautiful deck in the morning and cocktails there in the evening. Easy to get to The Sanctuary, Night Heron, Freshfield Market area & West Beach from the cottage. Plenty of beautiful flowers, wildlife and birds everywhere. A nice surprise was learning more about Kiawah, Charleston and the owners travels with information & books left for visitors to read. And it was so interesting to read the guest book and learn who had stayed there before we had and where they were from....much attention to detail by the owners to make sure that guests enjoy themselves while staying there. Beachwalker Rentals was wonderful to work with and assured that everything was ready for us and made sure we had everything we needed. We also spent time in Charleston..A must see and try Slightly North of the Boulevard (SNOB)... So good. Closer to Kiawah..Chez Fish..doesn't look like much but wonderful seafood. And Jasmine Porch at The Sanctuary ..delicious! We plan on renting this cottage again as soon as we figure out our 2017 schedule!"
