  • Great house and host

"This house is nicely positioned right in front of the beach access. It is clean and comfortable. Everything went smoothly with the transportation from the dock and our van driver Freddie gave us the lay of the land. Jonathan was in constant contact concerning a small hiccup we had and was very helpful and easy to work with. Thank you for all your help. We would stay here again."

  • Well-appointed. very comfortable cottage in a fantastic location

"We just returned from a week's stay in this lovely cottage, and can't wait to go back. Cummins provided ample information about the island, especially logistics on how to get to and from the island. We found the cottage spotless, charmingly decorated, and well-stocked with beach chairs and toys, dishes and cookware, linens, and essential items. Water pressure is great. There was a family in the unit next door, and we never heard a peep. Cummins provided her number and we texted back and forth when we had questions; she was very responsive. It is a very comfortable space for a family to relax in; we ate breakfast on the screened porch and watched the birds and lizards and frogs, and we ate dinner and played games inside on the dining room table. If you're new to staying on the island, make sure you bring enough groceries/fresh foods to last you the week. It makes for a bulky and awkward arrival by boat, but you won't be able to find it on the island. We stayed a week and also brought extra paper goods, TP, coffee, laundry detergent, shampoo, etc. We rented a couple of golf carts at Bloody Point; it was far too hot to bike, but there were a couple under the house available to us if we chose. The cottage location is terrific. The water's edge is just a couple of minutes' walk. We swam with shrimp, rescued some loggerheads, found sand dollars and hermit crabs, saw a couple of dolphins and some shooting stars, all from the beach in front of the house. There's a hose on the house between the two front porches to wash off sand. On the days we went to the pool, we found it a short quarter-mile walk to the playground and beach club. We ate in each of the restaurants and found them all delightfully different. Bloody Point and the Beach Club were clubby upscale, and Marshside Mama's and the Old Daufuskie Crab Company more rustic. Of all, we enjoyed the food best at Marshside Mama's and the sunset view (and the scrap iron!) at the Crab Company. The only (tiny!) difficulties we faced were with the AC and the porch lights. It was tricky to get the temperature sorted in the green bed/bathroom, which stayed much chillier than the rest of the house. For folks sleeping in there, bring some socks or a light coverup and grab the extra blanket. The porch light kicked on at dusk and disturbed our sleep in the green bedroom. We had to climb up and loosen the bulbs to turn them off. (Only, do better than we did and put them back to rights again when you leave!)"

  • Beautiful home on a quiet beach with well equipped kitchen!

"Knowing the weather would be iffy in March we took a gamble. We took May river excursions an uncovered boat over to the island. Unfortunately it was raining pretty good so we a little wet. May River helped us the best they could with tarps and gave us a break on the costs of out bikes due the inclement weather. Transfer to the house left our luggage uncovered. So prepare to cover your belongings if there is a chance of rain. The house is absolutely beautiful. We had 3 separate families and the 3 floors gave us plenty of room. The beach was quiet and the drift would along the side of the house was awesome for some beautiful photos. The kitchen was well equipped. We lucked out with better weather than was expected. There were a few things that were unexpected. The pool heater was in need of repair and the air conditioner on the middle floor went out after a storm. The direct road access to house was washed out in a storm so we had to take golf carts over to the house just a a few yards. Wasn't a problem except for transferring luggage in and out. But the property manager Deb Smith was very responsive. All in all we had a very nice stay and would go back."

  • Love the love shack

"We had an amazing mini vacation at the love shack on Dafuskie. The house was so adorable and stocked with everything necessary for our needs. Enjoyed the quietness and reading some books that were laying around. We will be back!"
