  • Perfect Family Vacation

"We had an amazing family vacation at The Cedar Cottage! We met my brother and his family there for a mini family reunion. Other than a couple of trips to town for groceries and fishing poles, we stayed at The Cottage for 6 days. We saw no reason to leave this little piece of paradise. Our children had unending fun swimming, fishing, kayaking, and roasting marshmallows on the fire pit. Each afternoon they read books on the hammock. They did enjoy the foosball table, pool, and ping pong upstairs when the adults needed to be indoors. We cooked on the grill most nights, and other nights we made use of the kitchen. We enjoyed the fire pit each night, roasting marshmallows and watching the sun set and enjoying the fireflies. The Cottage has loads of history with the family and it feels like they've invited you to join in their little peace of heaven!! The property is incredible, with views of Lake Wylie from so many angles, it's hard to imagine a better spot to build a home. The craftsmanship throughout the home is superb. We feel lucky that we were able to rent the home for our little vacation! We even decided to extend an additional rather than head back home. I highly recommend staying at The Cedar Cottage. I can't imagine a nicer lake home!!"

  • Perfect Getaway!

"I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was here! A group of 7 high school friends many who haven't seen each other in 25 years wanted to plan a girls weekend. We hoped for a place where we could hang out together, cook, sit in our Sweats, catch up and just relax. The Magnolia was perfect! We rented two apartments which were side by side and the way it was structured actually allowed for us to have one big suite. The decor was beautiful from the furniture to the beautiful paintings(which I want) to the comforters to the relaxed feel. The location was perfect. Dilworth is so low key and really gives a cute neighborhood feel instead of the feeling the downtown hotel stay can give. We walked everywhere. Coffee shop was .5 miles one way and brunch options were 1.0 mile the other way. When we arrived each apartment had complimentary wine, liquor, and food so we could all enjoy our first night together. Thank you to James, Charlie and everyone else who made this weekend perfect."

  • Beautiful property. Extremely remote.

"Very impressive property. Nicely maintained. Down a gravel road, so that's a little spooky when arriving after dark. Only complaint was that there was only a 4 cup coffee pot. Should have had a full size coffee pot. Good value. Short drive to Belmont, NC--a very cute small town with some nice restaurants."

  • Top notch cabin in a beautiful location central to everything!

"My mom and grandmother and I stayed here for a girls' weekend/retreat and to shop for some furniture. I can't say enough about how amazing this cabin is! One entire wall is floor to ceiling windows which looks out over the lake. The view is incredible and we would wake up every morning to sit and have coffee and admire the view. The rest of the cabin looks like something out of a home remodel show- just stunning! You can sit anywhere inside the cabin and look out over the lake, perfect for your morning cup of coffee or afternoon glass of wine. Since we visited in the winter we did not take advantage of the patio outside- I can't wait to return in warmer months and sit outside and use the dock and kayaks! There is a nice Queen bed in the bedroom upstairs with access to a full bathroom. There is also a bed downstairs with access to a full bathroom. For additional guests the couch pulls out into a comfortable queen size bed. Every detail of this cabin is well thought out and done very well. The town Belmont is close by and a very cute town to visit, but still a close drive to Uptown if you are looking for more city, or a 40 min drive out to some of the best furniture shopping around. No matter what you are looking to do, I think this property is for anyone!"
