  • Simply Amazing!!!

"Our stay at this lake house was parallel to none! First and foremost Jessica and the caretakers are the best, so thoughtful and caring! We had a death in the family during the week we stayed and they prepared us a basket of goodies and were just so kind. They truly want people to enjoy their stay and have a memorable vacation. All questions were answered before and during our stay. The home is comfortable and clean, really exceeding our expectations which were high to begin with! The description of the home is sufficient but really doesn't do justice to the property. Plenty of room for everyone to do different things inside and outside of the home. The view is spectacular and to be that close to the water was really nice. That we could bring our dogs was a bonus. I cannot wait to return! This is the perfect home to enjoy a lake vacation with family and friends!!!! You won't be disappointed! And the family BBQ place down the road is not to be missed!!"

  • Beautiful condo, lovely view, and fantastic hospitality

"Due to a family matter, we had to go to our hometown of Orangeburg for a few days. After surveying hotel choices, I decided to go to my normally reliable option of VRBO. Due to circumstances and need to reminisce, we chose the Lake Marion area as it held so many memories of my youth. After looking over the available condo/housing choices, this property was clearly heads above the others. Changing family circumstances caused us to alter our arrival date and the owner was super gracious in helping with the modification. The condo far exceeded our expectations. All rooms were perfectly arranged with modern furnishings, yet with a few pieces that had an antique flair. I loved the dresser in the master bedroom as it reminded of the one in my bedroom growing up which really helped on this trip. Even though time did not allow us to take advantage of the garden tub in the master bath, it looked comforting and my wife said we would have to come back to try it out. Despite the reasons for the visit, I slept well due to the very cozy and super comfortable bed. A large table with ample chairs are in the dining room which worked out well for my family. Its round design allowed us to dine and converse easily. The lazy susan is a great touch and I commend the owner on this wise choice. All appliances worked and we had all we needed with none of the usual "I wish the place had..." and it was very clean, my compliments to the cleaners. My family thoroughly enjoyed the balcony, watching the boats enter and leave while we sipped our glasses of wine. Even though we were not prepared to use the pool, it is very clean and the design fits well with the surroundings. I do highly recommend walking the old 301 bridge. It is the right distance for exercise and the view is fantastic. Having driven across this bridge as a young lad, this was a great walk. There are several grocery stores and decent restaurants in the Santee area which should meet practically any taste or need. I highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again when I visit my old stomping grounds."

  • Enchanting location

"The cottage and its location along with our hosts Ellen and Andy made this a perfect and relaxing vacation. We had 13 days/nights by the lake and enjoyed every minute. We're from Scotland so the fabulous Fall weather was very kind to us. We particularly loved spotting wildlife from the deck and on our daily walks around Shull Island. Everywhere is so well maintained and yet still 'wild' enough to support some lovely 'critters'. In particular a close encounter with a humming bird will be a cherished memory on the dark winter nights up North! All this and an incredibly comfortable tasteful cottage to relax in. Andy and Ellen could not have been more helpful or generous with their time to ensure we had all the info we needed to enjoy our trip and see as much of the highlights of South Carolina as possible. For us 5 stars aren't a high enough rating for this cottage, it's quite simply perfect. I have no doubt we'll return as there's still so much to see and do in SC! • Very nice condo

"We recently stayed in this condo and it truly had all the comforts of home. It was clean, comfortable, and very nicely decorated. Billie was so pleasant to work with, and took extra time to show us around and gave us a little history lesson about the area. We were traveling with teens who love to fish, and they especially enjoyed the dock and swimming pool. We rented a boat one day and enjoyed the lake, and also took a walk on the bridge. While there were not a lot of restaurants nearby, we did enjoy the Captain's Quarters. It was a very pleasant, relaxing vacation."
