  • This house is perfect!

"My family vacationed at Fripp for over ten years, but the week of Memorial Day this year was our first time back in about 15 years. We stayed in this beautiful home and loved it. There was plenty of room for all 8 of us. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. It is very close to the beach, and the pools at the Beach Club, and the bike trail. I especially liked the living room ceiling with all the treasures displayed there. The owners, Dave and Wylene, are wonderful people and went to great lengths to make our stay the best it could be. Do yourself a favor and get the entertainment package, which includes everything you will need to have the best vacation possible! I'm already looking forward to staying here again when we get a chance to come back to Fripp. Thanks Dave and Wylene!"

  • Our third year in paradise

"This summer was our third year at Calypso. It just keeps getting better and better! The location is the best on Fripp, the view toward the ocean is spectacular, the owners treat you like you're old friends, and the house is out of this world! It's a perfect house for a large family get-together or family or friends reunion. There's so much room that everyone can eat and be together or separate to watch different tv shows or movies or have quiet conversations. Everything you need or want is there -- & lots you didn't even know you needed or wanted. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated -- far beyond what you would expect in a house at the beach. The owners are so generous to share Calypso & everything in it with renters! They offer so much -- two floors of bedrooms & baths, the main floor with an open floor plan which includes a long dining table, a relaxing living space, a full kitchen with two dishwashers (we had no idea how great that would be!), and a bar area with a small refrigerator & ice maker. The house is child-friendly with a baby gate at the top of the stairs to the downstairs bedrooms & living space, a crib, and booster seats. The fact that the house is located next to a beach access & just a short walk to the wide beach is perfect for coming and going to the beach with toddlers or older adults. The elevator is a great help in unloading/loading suitcases, groceries, and beach goers who have trouble with stairs. There are two showers on the ground level, a ping pong table, bikes, lots of beach chairs and beach toys we put to good use. We also loved the fun & convenience of the golf carts the owners have available to rent. Calypso is next to the Beach Club with its pools & activities like kids camp, team trivia, karaoke. Tennis courts are right across from the Beach Club. It truly is paradise! We can't wait to go back for another week next year!!!"

  • Wonderful Week

"This was a great house for us to rent! Our kids were thrilled to be so close to the beach. They each had their own bedroom apart from ours, so we all got some much needed rest. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, including a crockpot. There was a handmixer for us to use for a little baking. My oldest son was working on a cooking merit badge for an Eagle Scout requirement and he had everything he needed to fix us breakfast one morning and then a shrimp feast that night. My husband looked longingly at the crabtraps outside, but he never got around to it. My youngest son and I loved to hang out together on the breezy, shaded screened in porch. And we all enjoyed eating our meals on the table on that porch. The owners were very sweet people to interact with and extremely responsive to anything we needed. At one point, I mentioned to them that there was an issue with the lights on the golf cart. It wasn't something that we expected to be fixed during our stay, but he had someone out there that afternoon to fix it. Some of the things that we enjoyed during our stay included shopping for fresh shrimp at the Gay Fish Co, eating at Dockside, and the Beaufort Shrimp Festival. The fried shrimp made by Sea Dog Market at the festival was delicious and I don't really care for fried shrimp. We also drove back to Port Royal to take the kids to their first drive in movie. I would definitely consider this home for our next vacation. Thank-you for a fantastic week!"

  • Excellent Beach trip

"Beach combing, swimming in the pool, fishing, crabbing, bike and golf cart riding, all within a protected family atmosphere. Great restaurants just an island or two away. Highly recommend Fripp."
