  • Nice views, clean, comfortable, quiet beach

"We had a great stay at this newly renovated condo with very nice views of the ocean across the dunes. The condo was clean, beds were comfortable, and the deck was roomy enough to enjoy several meals while gazing at the ocean. Our group (3 adults and an 11 year old) enjoyed the quiet beach, the 3 pools, the tennis and sports courts (you can check out sports accessories at the community center) and the rental bikes. We also enjoyed the short beach walk to the bird sanctuary area and the rookeries where we saw alligators, egrets, herons, and ibises in their natural habitat. We were concerned that the damage from Matthew would impact our vacation, and while you can still see some damage in and around the subdivision, this condo is in great shape, the beach is nice, and the subdivision amenities are up and running. Three notes: 1) Historic Beaufort is a short drive with cute shops, yummy restaurants, and a nice waterfront park, 2) The drive-in movie theater in Beaufort was a fun and nostalgic night out, and 3) Most of nearby Hunting Island Park including the lighthouse was closed due to storm damage during our stay."

  • Sun & Fun

"We arrived on Harbor Island 2 weeks after Hurricane Mathew! I think we were probably the only renters on the island, but we had a wonderful stay. We had to switch rentals only one week before our arrival, but everything turned out fine. The condo is just how it looks in the photos. Everything was very clean and well maintained. We like to be able to cook with the local shrimp and had no problem having all the pots and pans we needed. Beach access was limited, but that was only because the hurricane had washed away any boardwalk steps, but the boardwalks without steps made it accessible. The rental agents were very friendly and accommodating concidering all the work being done after the hurricane damage. All of our questions were answered promptly and our arrival and departure were carefree. Thank you for making our vacation stress free and totally relaxing."

  • Wonderful Vacation with Lasting Memories!

"You will fall in love with this villa (M-218) and never want to leave Harbor Island! The view is fantastic and the best part is you can be in the kitchen or living area and still have the same view as if you were outside on the patio. The villa was very clean and beautifully furnished in a Key West style with bright, happy colors! This is an end unit with extra windows and allows for a lot of sunlight and additional views in the living area. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Karl and Donna Mack provide excellent customer service – always answering questions promptly (even on the weekends) and providing great suggestions. While this is a pet friendly villa and we brought our cat, you would never know that an animal has ever stayed there because it is so clean and well maintained. And, while I am aware that on vacation one should “unplug” from devices, etc. I must say that the Wi-fi was outstanding. We never had any connection problems and always had a strong signal for our devices. If you are looking for an uncrowded, peaceful vacation where you will feel like you are immersed in nature, then Harbor Island is your place! You will be presented with beautiful sunrises over the ocean (as well as full moons) and stunning sunsets over the marsh along with all of the wildlife – turtles, dolphins, stingrays, and starfish, just to name a few. If you are looking for great seafood, head over to Johnson’s Creek Tavern, Dockside, or Steamers Restaurant. Take in a carriage ride, shopping, the Chocolate Tree and a great lunch at Plums when you visit Beaufort. We can’t wait to visit Harbor Island and this villa again!"

  • Harbor Island in September

"We had a great time on Harbor Island! The condo had one of the most stocked kitchens I've ever seen. We weren't sure how we would feel about staying somewhere so isolated from restaurants and other stores but we learned that it's the best! We bought shrimp from The Gay Fish Company and made a shrimp boil and other delicious meals! Most days we stayed on the beach from morning until evening! Very secluded beach and the waves were perfect for our 5 and 2 year olds. We took a day trip over to Hunting Island and it was beautiful! I gave this condo a 4/5 simply because we learned a lot of the condo's offered a pass to Hunting Island -this one did not and our WIFI didn't work the majority of the week we were there. We would have loved to completely unplug but work and small children required the use of some WIFI. We submitted a request to have it fixed and it wasn't rectified even several days later. All in all though a great stay!"
