"I'll get rid of the down sides first, since there weren't many: The unit is in need of a few upgrades (carpet, paint, etc.) and minor repairs (handle to the balcony door, closet doors, etc.). The air conditioning stopped working the day after we got there (fixed by the next morning). Can't really think of any other problems, and considering the price, they weren't a big deal and didn't detract from the experience.
So now for the good: The view! We could sit on the balcony and watch the waves. The kitchen was decently stocked with cooking and cleaning supplies. Everything worked great (with the one exception of the air conditioning snafu). The setup was comfortable and clean.
The facility is pretty nice - indoor & outdoor pools, hot tub, fast access to the beach, and far enough North so that traffic is not a nightmare like it is closer to the city center.
And the great: The owner! When the air conditioning stopped working, we had a bit of a panic - it was upper 90s out, and I know from experience that it can be days before these things get handled. Well, not with this owner. I emailed him, and he got back to me within 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, we had a temporary fix that worked until the repairman came out the next morning. This was typical of my dealings with Mr. Patel - he genuinely seems to care about his customers and takes care of things right away.
The only big disappointment was that Mr. Patel has sold the unit - I met the new owners, they seem nice, but it's a shame that he doesn't own it anymore.
All in all, we had a fantastic vacation! Thank you!"
