  • LOVE OCEAN CREEK!

"This is our 2nd year returning to Ocean Creek and again, we had a wonderful experience! We were in Myrtle Beach for a baseball tournament and the entire team stayed in the North tower. The condo was beautiful, the location is perfect, and we couldn't have asked for a better week at the beach. Easy to get to the beach, love Barefoot Landing, the kids are safe and go from beach to pool without a hiccup...we hope to come back again next year! This was a different condo than the one we stayed in last year, and I have to say this one was much nicer : ) Beautiful views, updated decor/furniture, very clean, and friendly owners with fantastic attention to detail. The only "negative" I would have would be the slow internet service...unfortunately I had to work while traveling and I had a tough time with slow internet connections (the tower has free wi-fi but it was very slow). Not a deal breaker though because it was a great excuse NOT to work and just enjoy the trip with my family. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

  • A great stay!!!

"I chuckle at the last review giving this unit a "terrible" rating due to bugs. - All the roaches must have moved out - they were gone when I stayed there!!! Water bugs are common in all beach front properties - you just have to learn to get along! Water bugs look like roaches but are about 3X the size. They can be a bit frightening! I found the condo cleaned and appropriately equipped. Exactly as advertised. I rent one bedroom condos at Ocean Creek frequently and this is the only one I found with a king size bed. These units were built in the 1980"s so they are not new but this unit had all upgraded kitchen appliances and all bath fixtures were in good working order. This is the nicest one bedroom I have stayed at and will be my first choice for my next trip. Ocean Creek is beach front but these condos are back a bit from the ocean. It is a short walk or you can hop on the shuttle that takes you right to the beach. It runs frequently in season and it works well. Everyone wants ocean front but I have been there and ocean front means much beach noise, high wind and there is always someone shooting fireworks (illegally) on the beach at night. So, I prefer the lodges, I don't like ocean front. This resort is beautifully landscaped and has a park like setting - walking paths, benches, lovely tall shade trees, swimming pools everywhere. . Much unlike the carnival atmosphere of beach boulevard. When I requested a price quote, the owner gave me the total cost of the stay - I get frustrated with owners that quote a low daily rate then add on a bunch of nonsense fees that can double the quoted price. The owner gave me the total cost + tax and requested a $100 damage deposit which was refunded immediately after check out. Actually, getting back your damage deposit is really up to the discretion and integrity of the owner. Some owners want $250 and more - I am not putting that much at risk!! No problem here - the damage deposit was back in my VISA account immediately. I usually don't like to talk about price in a review because I don't want to encourage the owners to up their rates but this is the biggest "bang for the buck" you are going to find on the Grand Strand"
