"We drove to Toes in the Sand from Chicago Area with a car load of kids and were so happy to finally arrive and excited to see the faces on the kids as they opened the door! We were in town for the Cal Ripken Experience Baseball Tournament for our 14 yr old. We had players parents very envious of our 1800 Sq ft as compared to their over crowded resort with leaks, fire alarms and cockroaches. The best part was we paid less than they did! The furnishings are better than the photos, two leather chairs along with the sofa and love seat in the living room. The master was large, the bed was so comfortable, if I were to be picky the sheets were a bit dated. MB faces East so bright sun in the AM!. My 21 year old daughter loved her queen en suite and was comfortable in her own space. The teenage boys had the bunk bed room and hooked up their xbox to the tv. They were on the main floor and we didn't hear them at night for midnight feeding time. There was plenty of space in the kitchen and made dinner every morning so it was ready after a day at the field. The air conditioning was wonderful, its set at 70 and it was perfect for the 98 degrees we had. They had two stand up fans which helped in bedrooms to have white noise. We used the outdoor shower for sandy feet, and the charcoal grill for burgers.
We enjoyed the beach, I loved the distance to the beach, we were thinking of getting a golf cart, but the house was so close it would have been ridiculous to rent one. On Tuesdays there is a farmer's market on Surfside Drive and I liked Angela's Produce Market on Atlantic rather than getting on 17. Driving toward Myrtle Beach on the 544 on a Saturday afternoon was a nightmare, we were backed up from Coastal Carolina University to 17. There are tons of Walmart's and t shirt shops. We para sailed for $54 pp, helicopter ride for $20 pp, so do things that you don't normally do at home when you are on vacation. We ate at Golden Egg restaurant for breakfast, very inexpensive for the amount of food. A small storm in late afternoon happened almost everyday. You will need to bring toilet paper (1 roll provided in each bathroom) , garbage bags and laundry soap. Previous renters left some but you can't go through a week without. There is a crack in the ceiling in LR, but no leaking that we noticed. It was nice to relax and reconnect with the kids and have new experiences together. We were very pleased and so happy to have chosen this home. Thank you!"
