  • Great Family Weekend

"My family had a great Thanksgiving weekend at Ivy Acres! The house was comfortable and spacious and well equipped for the 8 of us--6 adults and 2 children. There was ample kitchen equipment to cook Thanksgiving dinner, and the laundry room was a real boon with 2 kids in tow. The bedrooms were pleasant, and the children had their own space which they loved--an enclosed upstairs porch area furnished with twin beds. That room was not listed on the website as a bedroom because it has no heat or AC, but the weather was perfect so the extra room was very comfortable. The large living/dining/kitchen area made it possible to watch TV, play games, and tend to meals. The house was clean and uncluttered. The children played outside, shot basketball goals, fished in the river, and walked in the woods. Ivy, the owner's daughter, lives downstairs and was most accommodating and gracious. We could not have asked for a better host or a better location for our family holiday weekend."

  • Very Nice Condo with a Great View

"This lovely condo is spacious and clean. The furniture was comfortable. The view was wonderful (except for the temporary 24" pipeline on the beach), and the weather was great! The owner was great to work with and communicated quickly in answer to any of my questions. The major reason I didn't give a 5 star rating was really out of the owner's control. The hotel next door has a tiki restaurant on the beach with live entertainment. It was very loud, and really put a damper on our evening balcony time. Yes, they shut down at 10:00 P.M., but we like to sit on the balcony and listen to the waves. Hard to do that when the music is louder than the ocean. :-) Ocean One is in the Coligny Beach area, and thus very convenient to shopping and eating establishments ( I highly recommend the Key Lime Pie at Market Street Café) which is all within a quick walking distance from the condo. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay."

  • Excellent choice for our vacation

"Unit 704 at the regency towers is one of the nicest units we have stayed in. I would highly recommend this unit. This was our third year in a row staying here"

  • Awesome vacation property!!

"What a fabulous villa and wonderful location! We found this unit and the whole complex very neat and clean and could sure appreciate the safe family feeling. This unit has a beautiful ocean view with a well kept garden area. It was very calm and peaceful sitting on the balcony listening to the ocean and listening to the birds. We even watched daily (usually early evening) as a couple deer made there way into the gardens, ate, and pranced around for a short time. The walkways to the pool and beach are also well maintained and beautifully landscaped. The pavilion area with gas grills is also very neat and clean and very welcoming. It also has plenty of shaded seating if you choose to dine there. The two pools were also very nice. The zero entry pool with mushroom and small water shoots was enjoyed by many young children. There was plenty of seating around the pool. Although I thought it would have been nice to have a balcony to the pool, the pool was usually very busy and we found our unit with the balcony having such a peaceful setting with the gardens and ocean to be the ultimate for relaxing. This complex is very welcoming to families and this unit would easily accommodate a small family since the couch does pull out to a bed. There were additional linens and towels bagged on the couch if you would have had additional guests. We, however, did not need that and did not have to even open the bag. Yes, imagine that, this unit came with plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, tissues, and toilet paper! It had paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher soap, and a well stocked kitchen for cooking if that’s your delight. Having rented often from VRBO, you don’t always find that. This was our first visit to Hilton Head and I can’t speak for other areas, but Palmetto Dunes seemed like the ultimate place to be and a great place to call home for the week. It is centrally located on the island and you can easily visit the other number of attractions the island has to offer. The whole area seemed so well kept and luxurious. You won’t be disappointed renting this unit. The owners always responded quickly and seemed to want to insure we had a comfortable stay. THANKS AGAIN for sharing your home with us!!"
