  • Wonderful place

"My family and I stayed here for Thanksgiving. The area is BEAUTIFUL. Wonderful view from the multiple porches. Kayaks allow you to traverse the beautiful lake. On the trip to Ingles (an extremely nice grocery store nearby) you see beautiful panoramic mountain views. The house is very nice- we did a lot of cooking and hanging out all over the house. The nights are quiet and beautiful. One night we heard a loud splash somewhere off in the lake, and upon googling, read that many believe Lake Keowee to be haunted. We also took a short trip to Whitewater Falls which is a huge, incredible waterfall with a somewhat strenuous hike to the bottom. We had a really fantastic time."

  • Memorial Day Memories

"Four generations of family gathered for the long weekend. The house met all of our needs, with room to be together, or find a quiet place to read or nap. The lake access is wonderful. A very gentle slope to the shore and dock. Lots of sun if you want it, and large shade trees if that is your desire. The little kids loved being able to wade into the sandy bottom, or play at waters edge with the provided beach toys. We had one adult and her child both afraid of deep water. They were able to wade into the lake and go further in as they became comfortable, and enjoy the water. At the end of the weekend they were going off the end of the dock. The owner was a delight to work with, and the boat rental company she recommended was as well. We will be back!"

  • Best part of South Carolina is southern hospitality...

"Hi Wayne and Sandra Unfortunately we have to leave tomorrow after two wonderful weeks at your house. We were blessed with beautiful fall weather - sunny warm days and cool nights. There are so many beautiful national forests, state parks and waterfalls in the area. We enjoyed the hiking and natural beauty that northern South Carolina has to offer. The best part was coming back to your home every evening for a magnificent sunset. We have a son in law who graduated from Clemson University so it was nice to drive through the campus. The botanical gardens were wonderful. We went back a second day just to do bird watching. One day we drove an hour to northern Georgia to visit the Tallulah Gorge State Park - breathtaking! Of course the best part of South Carolina is the southern hospitality. We loved the people and the area."

  • Memorable Family Vacation

"What a wonderful vacation our family experienced at the Maloney Lake House! The house is so comfortable and the rooms are larger than represented by the pictures. The kitchen is well appointed and equipped to handle preparing and serving meals to a large family (although two nights we had cooks nights off and got pizza one night and Mexican food another night)! We had 21 family members, representing three generations. There is a large laundry room off the kitchen with an additional refrigerator which we used for soft drinks, water, beer and wine. The tables in the large dining area easily accommodate everyone for sit down dinners. We also rented the garage apartment which is nicely appointed and larger than pictured. The driveway easily accommodated four SUVs, a pickup truck and 2 mini-vans. There are grocery stores in Seneca, about a 15 minute drive from the house. Our favorite store was the Ingles, an upscale grocery store with a Starbucks, huge bakery and deli. The back porch looks out on the beautiful lake, and has big picnic tables for outdoor eating. The screened porch, off the Master suite, quickly became the favorite adult evening gathering spot. The beach area and quiet cove are beautiful, with clear water. Plenty of seating on the beach, and in the gazebo and deck overlooking the beach. The gazebo offers shade, and the deck perfect for sunning. We had 2 boats and 4 wave runners; there was plenty of room to dock these and still have room for swimming. The little kids really enjoyed the beach and swimming area, and went swimming every day. With three little grandkids, ages 2, 3 and 5, we really appreciated the outdoor shower. We were able to rinse off the little ones after swimming. There is also a convenient stand next to the shower to hang kids life vests, swimsuits and towels. After rinsing the kids, we would wrap them in towels and enter the house through the cabana bath, where they could dress before going off to other areas of the house. So well planned for families with little kids!! We used the full service Keowee Marina (about a 10 minute boat ride) for the boats and wave runners. Everyone there is so friendly and attentive. MIchael Maloney is also great to talk with! We had to query him several times with various questions in the months before we arrived, and he always answered promptly! Our whole family loved the beautiful Maloney Family Lake house!"
