  • Clean and comfortable

"Nice and quiet getaway. Everything clean and well functioning. Beds comfortable though a bit smaller than we are used to. TV reception very good, with multiple channels, even being on an antenna. Don goes the extra mile and surprised us with milk, cereal, eggs and a few other staples, which was a good thing as once we reached the cabin, my husband would not leave. The driveway, though well maintained (dirt, course gravel and some concrete pads), is not for all vehicles. We have an Altima, and it scraped bottom several times going up, and I mean almost straight up! Glad we made it though as it turned out to be a relaxing time away from the hecticness of life."

  • Great Lake Front Cottage Get-a-way

"July 2016, we rented this place for a family weekend get-a-way. The property has amazing views on a quiet cove where you can swim without the worries of boats. We had a great weekend enjoying the water and really disconnecting focusing our time on just being together. The house was comfortable and had a magnificent dock and balcony for resting and relaxing. There was a little blooper during our stay, but management handled and was more than accommodating. I feel that is when you know what good customer service is when something does not go right how someone handles it. I would stay here again - the place is cozy and the lake with its crystal clear water is amazing. Hope to have the chance to stay here again!"

  • Most wonderful home ever rented!

"My family and I rented this home for a four night fall break in October. We are from NC, but had never heard of Lake Jocassee. Just stumbled upon this home on a VRBO search when Hurricane Matthew prevented us from getting to the coast. My husband and four children (ages 9, 13, 15, and 16) had one of the most wonderful, memorable vacations we've ever had due to this immaculate, unique beautiful home and the incredible setting on the lake. We have rented many homes over the past ten years, and this was by far the nicest, cleanest, best one we've ever rented. The owners were fantastic -- very responsive and helpful and genuinely cared about our having a great experience. We spent our days on the lake. The boat made available to guests is spacious and powerful! Kids skiied, tubed and wakeboarded. It felt like we had our own private lake because there was almost no boat traffic (only about 30 houses on the entire lake), which is a plus when you're teaching young kids to ski. When we weren't enjoying water sports, we were hiking on/exploring the many waterfalls scattered throughout the lake. Finding them is like a treasure hunt, and was great fun for the kids. We spent our evenings enjoying dinners on the spacious porches, followed by family pool tournaments (pool table located in beautiful room overlooking lake)! We also spent lots of time hanging out in the adirondack chairs on the point (see pictures). In many houses we've rented, you feel like the owners are providing the bare minimun. This was the opposite of that. All beds were fabulous, sheets soft, bathrooms immaculately clean, kitchen well stocked, family room furniture so comfortable. You felt as if your close friends were allowing you to use their very special lake home. And with the massive, clean windows, you were enjoying the lake views at every moment. Only two negatives -- I would not want to arrive at night because the road leading to property is a long, gravel road and is fairly narrow and steep. So be sure to arrive before the sun sets! And secondly, if you like to have restaurants and a grocery store close by, this property won't work. It is a 30 minute drive to Cashiers where there is an Ingles and lots of restaurants. All that being said, once you're on this property, you'll never want to leave so just bring plenty of food with you! We're so grateful to the owners for sharing this home with us! It is one special place!"

  • the perfect gateway

"We stayed at the cabin last week end. It was such a peaceful week end, just what we needed. We were just my boyfriend and I with our dog. She had a blast running around in the woods. We loved Kulla's visit everyday, especially our dog ;) We will definitely go back there."
