  • This is just a dream place in the middle of the forest. If you need peace and love nature come here

"I loved the cabin, simple, cozy, super clean and friendly. Be sure you have a good car to climb the slope. Or talk with the very firendly owner about that last part of the road. It is absolutly worth, you will arrive to a peaceful forest cabin. Home out of your home, everything works you can spend days and days or just one night. I went with my two adults kids and they really enjoyed. Do not miss this one Claudia"

  • Beautiful location and lovely home!

"Summer Haven was the perfect spot for our family during our summer camp drop off weekend. The house is on a secluded lot with nothing but trees as your lovely view from the porch that wraps around two sides of the house. We enjoyed the porch for meals, playing board games (found in the house!) and sipping a glass of wine. The house itself is well-appointed, very clean and comfortable. We cooked two meals there and found everything we needed in the kitchen to make the meals. The beds were comfortable (all are on the second floor) and there were plenty of pillows and blankets to go around. The location itself is ideal for hikers and bikers. We did not bike this trip but my husband is eager to book this house again and spend the entire time mountain biking the trails in Dupont. The entrance to the park is super close to the house. You could definitely ride your bike to some of the mountain bike trail heads. The house has a notebook with info on trails as well as a couple of books. We took our 8-year-old and our dog on the loop trail that goes to Triple Falls and High Falls. It was an easy hike with pretty scenery and fun swimming holes. (By the way, the house is dog friendly – it is equipped with dog bowls, special dog towels and a book devoted to hiking with your dog.) The house is close to Brevard (took us about 20 minutes) and Hendersonville (more like 30 minutes through Dupont). There is a convenience store near the house with limited items and a beer garden at entrance to Dupont that looked like fun but we didn’t have time to try. Full amenities and good restaurants in both Brevard and Hendersonville (check out the great toy store in Brevard). West First in Hendersonville is one of our favorite restaurants. As noted in the listing, we had no cell phone coverage on either Verizon or AT&T but the wifi in the house worked well. Thank you Melinda for a great stay! We really hope we can get back there one day soon!"

  • This family getaway has it all!

"This house feels more like a home than a vacation rental! It’s very comfortable and beautifully decorated with a tasteful mix of antique, modern and eclectic furnishings and art. The home and entire property are immaculately clean and very well organized. The short drive up the mountain from Brevard is steep, but well worth the view and sense of peacefulness once you arrive at this true getaway. It’s worth getting up in the morning before sunrise to see the cloud cover hovering over Brevard. There was plenty of room for our teenage sons to have their own space downstairs complete with 2 bedrooms, game room and ping pong on the screened porch! My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub out under the trees beside the pool. It helped sooth our aging aches and pains! We also enjoyed sitting on the upper level screened porch at night to hear the night sounds and music rising from Brevard. The owners were very helpful to make recommendations for local things to do…..restaurants, hikes, etc. in the Brevard / Asheville area. We would definitely recommend this home for a real family getaway!"

  • Perfect for Family Reunion

"We just ended a wonderful vacation with family staying at the Rock House. There was plenty of room for sixteen family members with ages ranging from 18 months to 74 years. Very nice location; not too close to town but not too far away either. The house was very well kept, comfortable and inviting; just like walking into home. Beautifully appointed with a collection of children's artwork and full of surprises. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking several full meals during our stay. The Writer's Retreat was perfect for the young adults to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main house. We loved the access to and from the lake as far as the steps to the dock were concerned. They were not too steep which made the walk back up to the house much more bearable! The kids loved fishing and jumping and swimming off the dock. We explored the lake from boat, and found the Jumping Rock. We also found the Lighthouse Restaurant and Keowee Marina, not to mention several waterfalls in the area, including Lake Jocassee. Dave and Lucy thought of everything to make our stay pleasant. Dave was excellent at communication and was available by phone or text to answer any questions and discuss any concerns. Only bad thing was we didn't want to leave. Great place to stay and will for sure stay here again if it's available next time we go to Lake Keowee."
