  • Great Vacation, lovely cabin

"My family of 5 just came back from our vacation to the Black Hills. We stayed at this wonderful cabin just outside of Custer. What a great location! So peaceful being surrounded by the Black Hills National forest. We loved our stay at this cabin. Connie has thought about everything as it is fully furnished with all kitchen utensils, Tupperware, some seasonings in the kitchen, a gas grill outside, all bedding and towels provided as well. The beds were comfortable and there is a nice large table in the kitchen to sit and eat at and share stories from your travels that day. We also loved the large fire pit area across from the cabin. Really beautiful area. We are very happy we chose this place to stay, great location to get to the places we wanted to see. Connie and her family are very nice and easy to communicate with, thanks again for a wonderful stay!!"

  • Location! Location! Location!

"Perfect fit for our family of 9 (6 adults, 3 children). Loved the 5 bedrooms & 5 bathrooms! House was clean and passed my inspection:) Parts are a little worn around the edges & decorating is from the 90's, but it was a comfortable home for us to sprawl throughout. Worse part was the lack of Internet. It was so spotty & unreliable. There is no hairdryer which is unusual for VRBO's. The appliances all worked great! No central air, but 2 floor units (one on the main level & one in an upstairs bedroom). The lower level one worked OK cooling that area, but the unit in the bedroom only cooled the one room. We had a few 90+ degree days, so the other 2 upstairs bedrooms were warm. Thankful for ceiling fans & that it eventually cools down at night. The Mickelson Trail is adjacent (across the creek) to the property. The gravel lane is rough for road bikes, but the trail is equally rough. We sure wish the wonderful trail would be maintained better or even better yet paved! We had an awesome family vacation in the Black Hills and would stay here again."

  • Fantastic

"Well taken care of. Quiet, beautiful scenery, view was the best in the Hills. The Lodge was all log .location great also , short drives to areas for Grandkids to play. Morning sunrises off deck was almost heaven. Custer State Park just five miles away so touring did not take a week. We drove in every day to see different sites."

  • Just Perfect!

"Wonderful house for gathering with family who traveled from all over for our daughter's wedding which was at the State Game Lodge in Custer State Park. Very convenient to the State Game Lodge. We didn't have to deal with the traffic through the park that guests who stayed in Custer had to deal with. The Custer State Park passes were a great bonus. Beautiful property, very comfortable home, and welcoming hospitality from Bonnie and her family. We highly recommend."
