  • Rippling Creek Haven

"This Cabin exceeded our expectations! A perfect respite after long days of seeing all the Black Hills has to offer. Heart of the Hills Vacation were wonderful, and very accommodating. I will recommend to all of my friends and family. This cabin was a perfect location in a darling town. The beds were super comfortable and we all woke up each morning saying want a great night sleep we had! Very, Very clean and roomy. Felt so lucky to have found such a perfect place."

  • Black Hills Motorcycle Rally in Comfort & Style with Carol, Lin and Lefty

"We have been coming to the Black Hills for years to enjoy the annual motorcycle rally. Past years we have went the camp ground route with variations of tents, campers, and RVs. This is the first year we wanted to join the civilized world and get out of the dirt. We lucked out when we found Shady Grove! We rented the two-bedroom/two-bathroom downstairs unit. One bedroom had a king bed; the other bedroom had a twin and two single beds. The unit had a living room with a queen sleeper sofa, a roomy dining area, and a large private deck. The kitchen had every possible thing you would need sans food. Items provided in the unit included all towels, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, fuel for the gas grill, and cooking spices. The cabin could not have been more turn key. Carol kept us abreast of weather warnings so we could put our bikes in the garage and Lefty never failed to keep us company as we grilled our dinner out at night! The Black Hills Motorcycle Rally does not change much from year to year, what changes are the people you meet and the places you live. Carol, Lin and Lefty ensured this was our best rally by allowing us to stay with them at Shady Grove. I do not see a future trip to the Black Hills not including a stay at Shady Grove!"

  • A home away

"For my family this was a great home away from our home for a time. We enjoyed the setting in the Black Hills. We had turkey in the yard in morning and deer every night. Yet the drive to town was less than two miles. We enjoyed the fire pit and the deck made grilling convenient. The house itself was very good. I'd give it five stars but for the absence of WiFi"

  • Perfect family gathering with lots of outdoor space for the kids to run.

"The lodge and guesthouse had plenty of sleeping space for our family. We had 14 adults, and 5 children ages 2 to 8. With two separate living areas, the kids could watch movies and play games in one, while adults could visit in the other area. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. We had above average temperatures, so the adults and kids all enjoyed time outdoors. We took advantage of the horseshoe pits, sand volleyball court, and badminton. We cooked a few dutch oven meals in the firepit and enjoyed an evening campfire. The kids especially enjoyed exploring around the creek and trying a little fishing with equipment supplied. Family came from South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. The farthest anyone had to drive was 6 hours, so it was a perfect central location. We'd love to stay here again."
