  • Black Hills Motorcycle Rally in Comfort & Style with Carol, Lin and Lefty

"We have been coming to the Black Hills for years to enjoy the annual motorcycle rally. Past years we have went the camp ground route with variations of tents, campers, and RVs. This is the first year we wanted to join the civilized world and get out of the dirt. We lucked out when we found Shady Grove! We rented the two-bedroom/two-bathroom downstairs unit. One bedroom had a king bed; the other bedroom had a twin and two single beds. The unit had a living room with a queen sleeper sofa, a roomy dining area, and a large private deck. The kitchen had every possible thing you would need sans food. Items provided in the unit included all towels, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, fuel for the gas grill, and cooking spices. The cabin could not have been more turn key. Carol kept us abreast of weather warnings so we could put our bikes in the garage and Lefty never failed to keep us company as we grilled our dinner out at night! The Black Hills Motorcycle Rally does not change much from year to year, what changes are the people you meet and the places you live. Carol, Lin and Lefty ensured this was our best rally by allowing us to stay with them at Shady Grove. I do not see a future trip to the Black Hills not including a stay at Shady Grove!"

  • Beautiful rustic cabin in the Black Hills!!!!!

"My wife and I truly enjoyed our time at Little Elk Cabin it was centrally located from everything. It was in a secluded and peaceful area. The night skies were incredible, especially since we come from a metropolitan area. Everyone we crossed paths with in the area were incredibly friendly and helpful. Kathleen and Wolfgang provided a comfortable and clean stay at the Little Elk Cabin they checked in with us and made our late afternoon early evening arrival smooth and pleasant. Plus the cabin was equipped with everything one could need for their stay. I would definitely recommend this cabin to everyone."

  • Quiet, great view, comfortable

"We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, and seemed quite new. Beautiful rustic hardwood floors, big kitchen/dining table, perfect for 8 or more to play cards, etc. Walk in showers, screened in porch, large new hot tub/spa, large flat-screen TV with lots of satellite channels, etc. The WiFi was spotty/poor, and cell-phone coverage (AT&T) was non-existent, but you're not out in the 'sticks' for technology anyway. They allowed pets, which was one of the key reasons we stayed. Would stay again!"
