  • It would be hard to find a better way to vacation in the Black Hills (or anywhere for that matter).

"The cabin/house is fantastic. When we walked in we laughed about how big the place was but we soon realized that it was perfect for a family of 5. Our two boys shared one of the king rooms and our little girl took the queen room. The master is on the other end of the house and upstairs (the only second floor room) and we initially thought it felt really far away. However, because of the openness of the house it doesn't end up feeling far at all and no one got scared or felt too separated. In fact, with the openness of the house it was good to have the distance between the rooms so that we could use the shower and watch TV in the master without waking up the kids. The property is perfect. We literally spent 4 or 5 hours a day in the hot tub (more on some days) with the kids hopping out from time to time to go down to the river or play on the deck and someone playing pool just inside. The yard has room to play catch and hang out in the hammock but the river is still quite close and fills the house with the sound of running water whenever you open the windows/doors. The bridge leads to the wooded mountain which is also close and provides a fantastic backdrop as you look out the wall of windows along the back of the house (there are 4 sets of french doors that open to the deck as well as another door by the grill in the kitchen and in between there are knee to ceiling windows). The view is amazing and if you are up for an adventure a hike to the top of the hill provides another great view. We prepared nearly every meal at the house (at least 15 meals). I enjoy cooking and the kitchen is completely functional. There is a 6 burner dual oven professional gas range, microwave, fridge, island, and sunken sink. It is not the most up to date kitchen but it fits perfectly with the feel of the house and I didn't find anything lacking outside of measuring spoons. Don't expect top of the line (or even sharp) knives but if you enjoy cooking and are not a kitchen snob you will love it. I only have 450 characters remaining so I have to wrap it up. We were never bothered by anyone but we had direct access to the management company and owners by phone and text whenever we needed it (which we used to ask for an additional night since we didn't want to leave) and we heard back immediately, even in the evening, when we sent texts. Internet is acceptable at 14 down and .75 up and there ent. sys. is great. If you are thinking about it, do it."

  • Nice house on the bike trail and close to Hill City

"This was a very nice house located on the bike trail and a very easy bike into Hill City. The rooms were clean and comfortable and it was in a quiet neighborhood. The bed in the master bedroom was not very good and we wished we had used the double bed in the other bedroom."

  • Great Location, Clean and Decor

"I needed a location close to downtown Deadwood for my adult children :-), but not so close that the night life was an issue. This home was very nice, clean, convenient with all the amenities we needed for eight people ages 5 to 58. I will definitely rent this again when in the Northern Hills."

  • Quiet, great view, comfortable

"We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, and seemed quite new. Beautiful rustic hardwood floors, big kitchen/dining table, perfect for 8 or more to play cards, etc. Walk in showers, screened in porch, large new hot tub/spa, large flat-screen TV with lots of satellite channels, etc. The WiFi was spotty/poor, and cell-phone coverage (AT&T) was non-existent, but you're not out in the 'sticks' for technology anyway. They allowed pets, which was one of the key reasons we stayed. Would stay again!"
