  • Beautiful and at a great price

"Perfect place. Stayed as a layover point on our way to Yellowstone. In many ways almost wish we'd just stayed for the entire length of our vacation. Visited June 2016"

  • Great family getaway in the offseason

"The place was fantastic for a family with kids. Great terrain around for some hiking and a bench along the hillside to see Harney Peak. The house was well stocked but had some minor issues with housekeeping - nothing that would prevent us from coming back. I loved how the house was within proximity of Deadwood, Rapid City, Hill City, Keystone, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake, Badlands, National Caves, scenic drives (wild life loop, Iron Mountain, etc.) etc. Also, there is a vibrant scene with breweries and wineries. Lastly, Mickelson bike trail is nearby but the time of year and weather would not allow us to hit the trail. Around the house, we saw deer and my wife became a professional turkey caller. It was nice to grill out, the hot tub was a plus and outdoor fire place was great to sit around for some drinks. Looking at stars on clear nights was spectacular. It was great that the Easter Bunny made a stop on Easter and later took the family hiking to Harney Peak - a story that my family will remind me forever on how I almost got them killed on a holiday. Overall, my family and I had a very memorable and fun vacation over Spring Break and enjoyed staying at the house."

  • Hilltop After Sturgis Rally

"This home was the perfect place to see the Black Hills area. Every major attraction/Landmark is less than an hours travel, making it easy to return home before dark. This was important to us because we were all on motorcycles. 13 people-7 bikes. It was great to arrive back each day and be able to park the bikes in the large garage. The home is everything that it's advertised to be and more. Plenty of room for everyone to do there own thing or as a group. The girls could not stop admiring the overhead in the kitchen. Someone spent some serious time building that. Very creative. Groceries and plenty of places to eat out in the surrounding area too. If I'm ever in the area again I definitely will try to snag this home. Being on motorcycles I'm not sure how the home owners managed for us to have perfect weather everyday. :)"

  • Perfect Location in the Black Hills!

"We stayed almost a week in this beautiful cabin with our two sons (ages 10 and 13). It was so peaceful being able to see the forest and creek just out the windows. It seemed to be in the middle of all things fun to do. Hill City itself has everything you need from a Post Office, library and grocery store. There are great hiking, bike paths, lakes, 1880 train, dinosaur museum, cute restaurants, and a number of wineries. We were there during the "off season", but many things were still open. It was actually the perfect time because we had many things all to ourselves. We hiked around Mount Rushmore, viewed Crazy Horse, toured Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, swam in Evan's Plunge, drove the wilderness loop in Custer State Park, ate at Burgers & Buns in Custer (a must - great burgers), walked around Sylvan Lake, visited Reptile Gardens and the Air & Space Museum. We were even able to take in a RUSH hockey game in Rapid City. We saw mountain goats, big horn sheep, countless mule and whitetail deer, coyotes, prairie dogs, blue birds, bald eagles, bison and so much more. We also were able to tour both Wind and Jewel Cave. There are endless things to do, but I think we did most of them. It was a delightful trip and the cabin provided a clean, fully stocked, beautiful, cozy place to relax in the evenings. There were games, puzzles, and books at the cabin. Soaking in the hot tub under the stars after a long day of sightseeing was the perfect end to our fantastic days. We feel so blessed to have stayed and can't wait to go back."
