  • Perfect, will rent again next time

"This house was more than we expected. The owners were very friendly and answered all questions promptly. The creek running through the property made for hours of entertainment for the children with us and the location was close enough to town yet set back enough for it to feel secluded. We came up for a family reunion and used our home as a meeting point for our entire family. The deck and yard were a perfect space for our gathering and we've already started to plan for next year. We most certainly will be renting this home again. The only thing I recommend to the owner would be to purchase more coffee mugs. There were only four but it made for an entertaining game, the last one awake had to drink from the measuring cup :) Thank you Melissa for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home."

  • Great home, great for family!

"The home was easy to find and ready for us when we arrived. The welcome treats were a nice surprise! Thank you. We brought our two teenage children to visit the college campus. Our daughter, already enrolled at SDSU, stayed one night. It was really nice to have a separate bedroom for each of them as well as plenty of bathrooms with showers. We took advantage of the kitchen for cooking most meals. We even grilled burgers and steaks outside on two of the nights. The open floor plan of the great room was nice for visiting, cooking, and playing games. The kids really enjoyed the loft bunk area to hang out while we cooked. It was too cold outside to enjoy the outside fireplace, but we really enjoyed sitting by the gas fireplace inside. Eating popcorn and watching movies is something we enjoy in our own home, so as you can imagine, we felt right at home eating the popcorn and watching movies on the satellite TV. We would love to come back when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy more of the outdoor activities. Thank you for your hospitality."

  • It was really fun.

"Thank you to Bob and Donna. They made our trip. We were treated with the kindness and generosity that cowboys (and girls) are known for. The log cabin high on the hill is a wonderful stay. There is so much to see and do within a reasonable distance. We were there four nights. We visited Deadwood, Jewell Cave, Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse Memorial. Did a lot of hiking in the Badlands, Devil's Tower, and the spires (or needles) in Custer State Park. Driving to the top of Mount Coolidge, highest spot in the the Black Hills, provided amazing views as did all of our hikes. Going to the Wall Drug Store is an adventure, but be wary of the high prices on the hamburgers and ice cream. The chocolate was the best I have ever had and the hamburger was one of the worst. As for Rapid City there are good restaurants and statues of all 42 presidents on the corners of the streets. Be careful where you park. There are many city lots that will hit you for a $25 ticket. That's about it. Sorry we had to leave so soon. Hopefully we will return some day. Regards. MS"
