  • Nice place, functional, affordable, and in the mountains

"We enjoyed our week stay at the Pine Cone Cabin. We had 3 generations staying together, accommodating 80 year old grandparents, and 8 year old twins. We have relatives in the Sturgis area so it was easy to visit them and also do the tourist stuff near Custer State Park. The week we visited was very hot, Rapid City was 95 degrees, but we stayed cool in the 6500 ft. elevation. My only complaints are running out of toilet paper on the last day (uncool), a very slow coffee pot, and some traffic noise from the road in front of the cabin. It's private enough, but it is not secluded, its in a resort neighborhood. It was not excessive or annoying but just know that cars and ATV do travel on the road. Overall it is a very nice place, functional and affordable, and located high in the mountains. We enjoyed our time."

  • Great location, very clean!

"We loved our week! Very beautiful setting. A doe and her 2 fawns grazed on the back slope while we enjoyed after dinner drinks on the covered deck. The new Weber grill worked great! The house was very clean and made our stay fun and easy. Thank you! Gary"

  • Lovely place

"We certainly enjoyed our stay. I do have a suggestion to the owners: the bed in the upstairs bedroom (w/ a door) would be much easier to navigate if the headboard & footboard were removed. It takes up too much room. We could barely open the drawers to the dresser and certainly could not get around it very easily (& I'm not very big!). Other than that, everything was most accommodating. Thanks for having all the necessary utensils in the kitchen. (New pillows would be more comfortable.)"
