  • Perfect Location in the Black Hills!

"We stayed almost a week in this beautiful cabin with our two sons (ages 10 and 13). It was so peaceful being able to see the forest and creek just out the windows. It seemed to be in the middle of all things fun to do. Hill City itself has everything you need from a Post Office, library and grocery store. There are great hiking, bike paths, lakes, 1880 train, dinosaur museum, cute restaurants, and a number of wineries. We were there during the "off season", but many things were still open. It was actually the perfect time because we had many things all to ourselves. We hiked around Mount Rushmore, viewed Crazy Horse, toured Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, swam in Evan's Plunge, drove the wilderness loop in Custer State Park, ate at Burgers & Buns in Custer (a must - great burgers), walked around Sylvan Lake, visited Reptile Gardens and the Air & Space Museum. We were even able to take in a RUSH hockey game in Rapid City. We saw mountain goats, big horn sheep, countless mule and whitetail deer, coyotes, prairie dogs, blue birds, bald eagles, bison and so much more. We also were able to tour both Wind and Jewel Cave. There are endless things to do, but I think we did most of them. It was a delightful trip and the cabin provided a clean, fully stocked, beautiful, cozy place to relax in the evenings. There were games, puzzles, and books at the cabin. Soaking in the hot tub under the stars after a long day of sightseeing was the perfect end to our fantastic days. We feel so blessed to have stayed and can't wait to go back."

  • Perfect family gathering with lots of outdoor space for the kids to run.

"The lodge and guesthouse had plenty of sleeping space for our family. We had 14 adults, and 5 children ages 2 to 8. With two separate living areas, the kids could watch movies and play games in one, while adults could visit in the other area. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. We had above average temperatures, so the adults and kids all enjoyed time outdoors. We took advantage of the horseshoe pits, sand volleyball court, and badminton. We cooked a few dutch oven meals in the firepit and enjoyed an evening campfire. The kids especially enjoyed exploring around the creek and trying a little fishing with equipment supplied. Family came from South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. The farthest anyone had to drive was 6 hours, so it was a perfect central location. We'd love to stay here again."

  • Family Reunion June 2016

"The comforts and amenities of this home helped make our family reunion even more special. The private back patio was perfect for our large group to sit out doors barbeque and enjoy the evenings. The kitchen was well equipped and made for easy meal preparation with many cooks. We had kids ages 19 - 5 and it was a perfect house for playing hide and seek ping pong, and watching movies. The home was very clean, and a very relaxing place to "just be". Thank you to the owners for their help in making this special home a great place for reunions."

  • Great location and tons of space

"We were in the area for a wedding. This home has it all! It had plenty of room for 7 adults and 4 kids - which included my family of 4, my sister-in-law's family of 4, grandma, grandpa, and an aunt. The 3 bathrooms really came in handy. :-) The kids had so much fun in the pool with the slide. The location is close to several area attractions like Mt. Rushmore, Reptile Gardens, and Cosmos to name a few favorites. We even hiked Harney Peak while we were there. All of us had a great time ... from the youngest to the oldest!! Oh, and we enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife that was around like the deer, rabbits, and wild turkeys."
