  • Black Hills getaway

"We enjoyed the location and the quietness for most of the time. The cabin is need of new mattress in bedroom and the lazy susan in the kitchen is in need of work. From our point of view the cabin needs updating and a fresh coat of stain on outside and some fixing up on the deck. We felt very at home and met our needs."

  • A comfortable clean home.

"Black Hills Forest Edge Cabin has the perfect amount of comfort for a stay in the Black Hills. It's located close to all of the major attractions but far enough outside of town that on a clear night the Milky Way brilliantly arches overhead. We saw deer, wild turkey, a fox, and a host of song birds around the cabin. Sitting on the back porch watching the sun come up over the hills with a cup of coffee was a great way to start each day. The cabin is a great place to unplug and slow your motor down. It is also a great base to start day trips from. Devils Tower is 2-1/2 hours away. The Badlands were 2 hours away. Custer State Park was 25 minutes away. Mt Rushmore was only 25 minutes away. Hill City, which is only about 12 minutes away, has a good grocery store, several restaurants, a nice main street to walk down in the evening, and everyone is real nice. Ruby was a gracious host and my family and I are glad she opened her home to us!"

  • Great stay in a great property!

"We spent a week here in July of 2016 and it was fabulous. The property was great and in a very nice neighborhood. The house itself was well furnished, comfortable and clean. Dee was great, she was very helpful and checked when we arrived to make sure everything was okay. It was all around an awesome week. We had several family members from different locations fly in to Spearfish and it was nice to have a house for everyone to stay in and spend time together - something that would have been impossible in a hotel. The location is excellent and centrally located to the area attractions such as Devils Tower, Deadwood & Mount Rushmore. Additionally the area around Spearfish itself is very nice and scenic with a fish hatchery, park and many great restaurants and shops. Anyone planning to attend the Sturgis motorcycle rally should consider this house. Close enough for the experience, far enough for some privacy with easy access from the interstate and again centrally located. When we travel back to Spearfish there is no question that we will again contact Dee and stay in one of her great properties. Highly recommended!"

  • Log Cabin Stay

"Very beautiful cabin. Don't forget to bring your own linens and towels or you will be stuck washing them yourself on day of checkout."
