  • Blessed Week

"We were in much need of a get away. Our son and new daughter-in-law came to this cabin in the fall of 2015 for their honeymoon. They HIGHLY recommended it to us. Wanted to see the Gaither concert in Gatlinburg so we took them up on it. It was wonderful, clean, peaceful, cozy, relaxing and just what we needed. We were even blessed to see mama bear and her 3 cubs off the back deck. Truly God's country. Ideal get away!"

  • Cozy and cute, with all necessary amenities

"If you're looking for a simple, frills-free but comfortable place in the Sewanee area, I'd recommend Kelly's Kabin for your stay. The property is located in a gated community but feels absolutely secluded--I couldn't see or hear any neighbors from the house, which sits on a wooded lot deep in the community. The home is more than a cabin but isn't by any means luxurious--but then again, I tend not to seek out luxury in rural Tennessee. That said, it's got everything you need to make a temporary home--washer and dryer, dishwasher, kitchen stocked with all necessary cooking utensils, plenty of blankets and towels--plus a little extra, like a hot tub, tiny hibachi grill, and bicycles for tooling around. I had no need to contact the owners during my stay since the directions on getting into the community and property were clearly explained via email, but I have no reason to believe they'd be difficult to reach if necessary. There aren't many offerings in the area in the way of culture, dining, or nightlife, but if you're planning a trip to Monteagle/Sewanee, you probably don't expect there to be. A cute cafe, basic grocery, and some very pretty hiking is what we found and all that we needed for our weekend getaway."

  • Wonderful Cabin!!!!

"Our family of 4 stayed at "Quiet Seclusion" for a full week. As I'm sure you've read in the other posts, the driveway the first time up to the cabin was a little hairy but we managed just fine. After that, we knew how to maneuver it and while we were there one of the neighbors on the mountain used his tractor to smooth out the divots making it much easier. When we arrived the cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was clean and spacious and had the wonderful cabin smell of fresh wood. The kitchen is very large and is stocked with all the cooking utensils and dishes you'll need. There is a 3/4 wrap around porch with a table, chairs and hot tub over looking the wooded area that surrounds the cabin. The master bedroom was a suitable size and the bed was super comfy. We put one of our sons on the full size futon and one on an air mattress (that we brought from home) in the second bedroom/game room so we all had plenty of space. We did a lot of sightseeing while we were in TN so it was nice to be able to come back to the cabin and just relax and hang out. It's very homey and comfortable and we really enjoyed the comforts of feeling like we were at home yet on vacation. Gary was a pleasure to deal with and his directions to the cabin were spot on. He truly has a special place on that mountain and we hope to stay there again."
