  • We loved our stay!

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Gingerbread House. The location was really easy to get to and the directions were spot on. Check in was a breeze as all it took was a phone call to the office. Parking was in front of the cabin and we had plenty of space for a full size pickup truck. Upon arrival we noticed the hot tub read 85 degrees F. I called and was assured they had just changed out the water for us and it would reach proper temp soon. Within 2 hours it was up to 104 F and was great!! The cabin had every thing we needed to start our vacation. We did buy dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels and extra toilet paper (we left all of it there for the next guest as we only used a small amount) The interior of the cabin was very clean and cozy. The fireplace came stocked with wood and came in handy. We did buy fire starter at the little store down the road. Bed was very comfy (we slept until 10am each day LOL). The TV and cable worked great and had a lot of channels. WiFi worked throughout the cabin. (no pass code needed). Shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Plenty of towels and wash clothes available. Washer and dryer were awesome to have! The central heat worked wonderful and kept the cabin at 72 f where we set it. The stove, oven and fridge were all spotless and worked well. The water out of the tap tasted very good with no weird odors or colors. The location of the cabin is less than 1 mile from Ober and a 5-7 minute drive to Downtown Gatlinburg. There is a great convenient store a couple of miles down the ill as well as a superb pizza shop. The store has basic supplies and we found ourselves satisfied with the selection they had. During our stay, one of the mornings we woke up to the heater not working (60 degrees F in the cabin) I called the office and they had a repair man out there within a hour to repair it. It was a minor inconvenience which was promptly resolved. Excellent customer service with that! I wish there were a little bit brighter lighting in the cabin (personal preference) and the bathroom vent fan sounds like it will need replacing soon, Those are about the only nitpick things I can think of LOL This is a great cabin if you want to visit Gatlinburg and be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but still be very close. We highly recommend The Gingerbread House!!!! Thank you Diana for the great communication and wonderful memories we made during our stay at your place!"

  • Peaceful

"Everything was fantastic other than the fact that the hot tub had cold water and we couldn't figure out how to warm it up! One of my favorite vacations!"

  • Incredible Condo!

"The views were unbelievable! I came here for a 4 night stay with my husband in early January, and it was perfect. We wanted to get away for a few nights for a break, and this was just what we needed! The condo had more than enough space for us and it is set up to feel just like home. It has a great view of the mountains, but still is close enough to the local attractions so we were able to get out and do some exploring too. Booking was really easy and all of our questions were answered quickly. Definitely coming back!"

  • A short, but very nice stay.

"We traveled to Gatlinburg for a short weekend with our children (two 14 years old, a 9 year old and a 7 year old-all boys) and stayed at Sarah's Bear Heaven. The A-Frame sits on the slope of the mountain with many many stairs to get to it. You only need to know this if you can NOT climb stairs. Otherwise, it is worth it because the view is as stated, "a million dollar view." There are two very nice adirondack style director's chairs on the front deck to observe this most peaceful view, especially with a glass of wine or your morning coffee........ we enjoyed both. We found the cabin to be very nicely decorated (the den furniture is so comfortable), very clean, and well-equipped. It is full of amenities...board games, video games, pool table, movies, etc. We enjoyed many of them with our children. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not usable for it was foggy and had a bad odor....obviously not taken care of or kept up. However, we didn't complain or I'm sure it would have been rectified. We had an issue with the damper on the fireplace. It appeared open, but obviously was not. We decided not to use it since the weather was so mild out. Again, we did not complain or I'm sure this would have been addressed, as well. The beds were comfortable and clean. We had plenty of space for 6 of us. The location is ideal for the city of Gatlinburg which is just a mile or two down the mountain. This is an older home that has been kept up nicely. Out of all my experiences with driveways and parking on this mountain, this is by far the best. Well marked and solid driveway with a large parking area making it easy to navigate our large SUV. If anyone is wondering about fire damage in the area, it did not interfere with our visit and we felt really good about patronizing the area. We also used it as an opportunity to teach our children about the dangers of wildfires. Again, it is not bad and it absolutely did not interfere with our stay whatsoever. I highly recommend this cabin and Gatlinburg for a family vacation."
