  • Grand view did not disappoint!

"This exceeded our expectations, renting sight unseen can be a little nerve-racking but I can honestly say this was an incredible rental. Very clean and had everything we needed to make our vacation perfect. My 14 year old declared this the best vacation every after seeing the pool table, hot tub and view. He is a tough one to impress! We did see a baby bear and mama in the driveway or first day there, a little scary since we were getting in the car to go somewhere. However, they were passing through and paid no attention to us. That was the only instance in the 10 days that we saw a bear. Though our neighbors had one several times go through their trash, we never had an issue. This was a great base for seeing all the sights around, everything was easy to get to. We were sad to see vacation come to an end, our last morning was tough, we hated to leave Grand view, thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven, we will definitely be back!"

  • Bridal Shower weekend

"Had my daughters's bridal shower weekend with 8 ladies. The cabin was even better than pictures. The decks were awesome as was the hot tub! We were very close to strip & Ober Gatlinburg. Plenty of parking space & sleeps 8 easily. We were hoping to see bears but they must have had other plans. I will definitely see if Brooksong is available on our next trip! Thanks Tidrick family!"

  • USMC Reunion

"We had a wonderful stay at Bears Hearth. We had 12 people on average staying there. There was plenty of room for everyone inside and out. The kitchen was narrow but open on both ends which did help in getting around one another. It was well equipped other than more dishcloths and towels would have been nice. A paper towel holder too as we were always looking for where the roll went. We didn't find a griddle either and with that many people it would have been put to good use. We had plenty of hot water which is always a plus! I didn't use the pool table, which was ripped, or foosball but heard they should be used for firewood. A fire ring or pit would be a nice addition. I enjoyed using the hot tub although I would not call it large. We knew we were going to be in the mountains, but not really expecting the roads to be quite that steep and windy! Make sure your vehicle is in good running condition and has good brakes. It is a quick drive to town but not one you want to make more than necessary. We were not disappointed in bear sightings! We loved seeing them and they didn't seem to mind seeing us and did keep on going. Thank you for giving us a great place to get together for our USMC reunion!"

  • Nice Amenities and Beautiful View

"When I first saw this listing there were no reviews posted since 2014. After contacting the owner, she quickly emailed me a link to her management's website where I found many positive reviews for 2015. I am sure she would do the same for you. This mountain chalet is exactly as pictured. The initial booking process with Chalet Village Properties was easy with one phone call to the number on this website. They provide driving directions to their office and to the chalet. The drive up the mountain to the chalet takes about 15 minutes. The chalet was very clean, well maintained, and nicely decorated. There is a covered walkway to the covered hot tub, just outside the back door. There are other homes nearby, but they are nestled in the trees and you just don't notice them. It was quiet and peaceful. Downtown Gatlinburg is at the foot of this mountain. We arrived during the busy foliage season. During our stay the main street in Gatlinburg was congested with traffic. We found eating out and parking easier in Pigeon Forge so we took the Gatlinburg By Pass and 441which is a very short, pretty drive to Pigeon Forge. The Log Cabin Pancake House in Pigeon Forge has good breakfast choices and was reasonably priced. To see the mountain foliage we first stopped at the Gatlinburg Welcome Center / National Park Visitor Center on Hwy 441 between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and got a map of the Smoky Mountains. We drove on 441 to Clingman's Dome, the highest elevation in the mountains. Then we took Newfound Gap to Cherokee and Soco in South Carolina. Then back tracked on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Hwy 441 and on to Gatlingurg. The heavy, stop and go traffic in the mountains averaged 6-9 miles per hour on this Saturday and the trip took all day. The weather was sunny and provided a clear view of the high mountain colors. We did the foliage tour in New Hampshire last year, but the Smoky Mountain foliage won the prize this year. I would recommend this chalet for anyone touring Gatinburg, Pigeon Forge, or the Ober Mountain Ski area. Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge are both full of fun things to do. The area appeals to all ages. We enjoyed our trip to this chalet and the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Whitson and Jistel couples from Texas"
