  • Wonderful Stay and Wonderful Location

"This property was amazing and a great value. We had two boys who loved the game system, and they loved being able to retreat to the game room to play it. The property offered a great view of the Obergatlinburg Tram as it would travel by. The hot tub was a fantastic amenity after hiking through the mountains. The only downfall I found with this property was on me. I had to learn to use my vehicle in low gear range to navigate my way down the mountain as to not abuse my breaks. Michael and Robin were very accommodating by leaving a journal of events and things to potentially due. They as well left cards that were very handy in offering discounts at local attractions. Blue Bear was a great place to stay and it was hard to leave such a beautiful place. If you want to stay at a place to make some great memories, I recommend this property. Thank you to Michael and Robin for letting us be there guest."

  • Nice Amenities and Beautiful View

"When I first saw this listing there were no reviews posted since 2014. After contacting the owner, she quickly emailed me a link to her management's website where I found many positive reviews for 2015. I am sure she would do the same for you. This mountain chalet is exactly as pictured. The initial booking process with Chalet Village Properties was easy with one phone call to the number on this website. They provide driving directions to their office and to the chalet. The drive up the mountain to the chalet takes about 15 minutes. The chalet was very clean, well maintained, and nicely decorated. There is a covered walkway to the covered hot tub, just outside the back door. There are other homes nearby, but they are nestled in the trees and you just don't notice them. It was quiet and peaceful. Downtown Gatlinburg is at the foot of this mountain. We arrived during the busy foliage season. During our stay the main street in Gatlinburg was congested with traffic. We found eating out and parking easier in Pigeon Forge so we took the Gatlinburg By Pass and 441which is a very short, pretty drive to Pigeon Forge. The Log Cabin Pancake House in Pigeon Forge has good breakfast choices and was reasonably priced. To see the mountain foliage we first stopped at the Gatlinburg Welcome Center / National Park Visitor Center on Hwy 441 between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and got a map of the Smoky Mountains. We drove on 441 to Clingman's Dome, the highest elevation in the mountains. Then we took Newfound Gap to Cherokee and Soco in South Carolina. Then back tracked on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Hwy 441 and on to Gatlingurg. The heavy, stop and go traffic in the mountains averaged 6-9 miles per hour on this Saturday and the trip took all day. The weather was sunny and provided a clear view of the high mountain colors. We did the foliage tour in New Hampshire last year, but the Smoky Mountain foliage won the prize this year. I would recommend this chalet for anyone touring Gatinburg, Pigeon Forge, or the Ober Mountain Ski area. Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge are both full of fun things to do. The area appeals to all ages. We enjoyed our trip to this chalet and the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Whitson and Jistel couples from Texas"

  • Multi family week

"Wonderful time away with 6 kids ages 14-10 and 4 adults. Wonderful views and plenty of space. The drive up the mountain was a bit nerve wracking if your not use to the mountains and the driveway quite steep- use the cul-d-sac at the end of the road to turn around. We did tourist stuff, hiking, and the Titanic museum. The views from the upper and lower decks were srunning! My favorite watching the sun come up with my coffee. Hot tub on lower deck to rest your muscles after a day of walking or hiking! Definitely will return!"
