"There are lovely houses you can rent with views and key amenities. But, then there is the rare occasion when you have the great fortune of discovering a home that is more than a place to stay, but is something so much more. My family and I had the privilege of experiencing such a home on our recent stay to Gatlinburg. Sam and Tammy Yarbrough have poured their hearts into creating a beautiful home nestled in the hills of the Great Smoky Mountains. It is full of warmth and thoughtful touches that are meant to provide their guests the comforts of home. The furnishings are beautiful and the layout is absolutely perfect for families or couples traveling together. They have thought of everything from rich bedding to cozy couches and all the kitchen appliances you may need during your stay. The views from the balconies are magnificent. There is nothing like getting up early in the morning, grabbing that first cup of coffee and sitting on the deck to watch the sun rise over the mountains. I fell in love with everything about this cabin, even the coffee cups. It was impeccably clean and I’m a stickler for cleanliness. Not a dust bunny in sight. I have never stayed in a home that was as well maintained as this cabin. And, we have rented many houses over the years. On this particular trip, we traveled with six people including myself, my husband, my two sons, my mom and dad. There was ample room for us all to spread out and never at any time did we feel as though we were on top of one another. The boys remained mainly on the first floor where they played pool and video games. And, the adults either gathered in the living room or relaxed in the upstairs bedrooms. It was truly difficult to say goodbye to our little slice of paradise. And, I can honestly say it was the best Christmas we have ever spent as a family. It was the perfect storybook adventure. Sam and Tammy were attentive to our needs the entire time and brilliantly communicated with us before, during and after our stay. They are the epitome of Southern hospitality at its finest. If your travels take you to the Gatlinburg area, this home is without a doubt the place for you to rest. You will not be disappointed….and I may just be a bit envious."
