  • Nice Amenities and Beautiful View

"When I first saw this listing there were no reviews posted since 2014. After contacting the owner, she quickly emailed me a link to her management's website where I found many positive reviews for 2015. I am sure she would do the same for you. This mountain chalet is exactly as pictured. The initial booking process with Chalet Village Properties was easy with one phone call to the number on this website. They provide driving directions to their office and to the chalet. The drive up the mountain to the chalet takes about 15 minutes. The chalet was very clean, well maintained, and nicely decorated. There is a covered walkway to the covered hot tub, just outside the back door. There are other homes nearby, but they are nestled in the trees and you just don't notice them. It was quiet and peaceful. Downtown Gatlinburg is at the foot of this mountain. We arrived during the busy foliage season. During our stay the main street in Gatlinburg was congested with traffic. We found eating out and parking easier in Pigeon Forge so we took the Gatlinburg By Pass and 441which is a very short, pretty drive to Pigeon Forge. The Log Cabin Pancake House in Pigeon Forge has good breakfast choices and was reasonably priced. To see the mountain foliage we first stopped at the Gatlinburg Welcome Center / National Park Visitor Center on Hwy 441 between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and got a map of the Smoky Mountains. We drove on 441 to Clingman's Dome, the highest elevation in the mountains. Then we took Newfound Gap to Cherokee and Soco in South Carolina. Then back tracked on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Hwy 441 and on to Gatlingurg. The heavy, stop and go traffic in the mountains averaged 6-9 miles per hour on this Saturday and the trip took all day. The weather was sunny and provided a clear view of the high mountain colors. We did the foliage tour in New Hampshire last year, but the Smoky Mountain foliage won the prize this year. I would recommend this chalet for anyone touring Gatinburg, Pigeon Forge, or the Ober Mountain Ski area. Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge are both full of fun things to do. The area appeals to all ages. We enjoyed our trip to this chalet and the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Whitson and Jistel couples from Texas"

  • Just What We Were Looking For

"We had a GREAT Labor Day weekend stay at the Bear Drop Inn. From booking, to directions, to the actual stay this is exactly what my family was looking for. The owners were great to work with and were quick to respond to any questions or concerns. As far as the cabin was concerned, it was perfect. The location was great as we spent a day enjoying Ober Gatlinburg and it was very easy to get to town and Pigeon Forge. The kids enjoyed the game room while the adults enjoyed playing cards and the big dining room table. With 10 people every family was able to have their own bed/floor of the cabin. Which worked out great for when you wanted a little privacy. The deck also provided great views. The only negative, for me anyway, is I did not get to see any of the bears that the other reviews raved about. While this made my mom happy, I was really hoping to see some of the native wild life. Guess this just means we will have to book a return trip soon to check this item off the bucket list. Overall, a nice relaxing weekend made even easier by great owners and a great cabin. Thanks so much! Mike"

  • New home away from home

"Thank you so much, Amy, for sharing your cabin with us. The view from the decks is amazing. You have thought of everything a person would need in the kitchen and the furnishings and beds are very comfortable. When we had a problem with the Wifi, Amy graciously walked us through resetting it. Very much enjoyed relaxing on the peaceful decks in the evening after a day of sightseeing. I think we have found our new home away from home😉"

  • Exceptional Value

"The pictures do not do this place justice. I was hoping to check into my cabin a little early and the owners made it happen. Everything about my stay was exceptional. The cabin was much larger than I expected and very cozy. The private hot tub was a treat to come home to after a hike. The kitchen was well equipped. The pool table was in good condition. The satellite tv never wavered, even through one stormy day. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The decor was great: homey but not tacky. The views could not be beat."
