  • Nice place but questionable area

"We arrived to the cabin just as the sun had set. Glad there was a little light left because as they state, this place is pitch black after dark. You will need a flashlight/phone light for sure. Although we followed the printed directions, it was still pretty hard to find and the roads are all very small and mountainous. I would never attempt to get there in the winter because the drop off on the side of the roads are very steep and no guard rails. Once we were in the cabin we were very happy with it. Nice rooms, great beds, TV in every room. Very cozy. My complaints would be the very small showers which you had to duck to get under the shower head and the fact that there is not a porch light left on for you (there is one), even though that is stated in the materials. My main complaint (and it has nothing to do with the cabin) is the area the cabin is in. It reminded me of something out of the movie Deliverance. I was hearing banjos in my head as we were trying to find this place. We passed a cabin that looked like it was falling apart, a couple of very run down trailers and lots of old broken down cars in the area. Not sure if it was the people visiting the area or what, but it seemed very backwoods and unsettling. We go to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area a lot and I have never stayed in an area like this before and while we enjoyed the cabin, I would not stay in this area again."

  • Nice but not great!

"We had a great vacation. The cabin was nice. Gave it 4 star because when we arrived, the door code they gave us wouldn't work. Finally got in after texting owners several times The guest bed was broken on one side but beds were comfortable. No storage at all in guest bedroom for clothes except closet. We had a hard time finding the rental because directions say turn on a road but it was marked a different name. Loved the creek, and the cabin was well stocked. Would recommend."

  • Very Pleased!

"We have stayed in many Gatlinburg cabins over the years and in fact had our own cabin for several years. Of all the places we have stayed this property seemed the most like home, It was warm and cozy, yet big enough to have some space. The amenities were spot on and the location was perfect being somewhat private yet only a couple blocks to the craft trail and easy access to downtown Gatlinburg. We had absolutely no issues with the cabin and for the money it is a great value. We stayed 9 nights and were sad to leave. We will definitely go back to Fox's Den. Charles and Sharon are great people."

  • Just what we needed!

"Our work schedules allowed us a quick getaway and we decided on the Smoky mountains! Then, we found "Mount LeConte Vista" and are so glad the cabin was available for our stay! We just LOVED this cabin! We cooked most meals at the cabin and I was so pleased with how well the cabin was stocked with pots, pans, dishes and kitchen gadgets! There was even a crockpot! The views are "to die for"! Endless mountain views, a direct view of the activity at Ober Gatlinburg, and a lovely nighttime view of the lights and strip in downtown Gatlinburg. We loved the privacy, there are no neighbors behind the cabin so we felt like we were alone on the mountain. We used the charcoal grill for steaks one evening, and we used the sauna which is inside the cabin and close to the hot tub. The hot tub set-up is so unique, it's sunk into the deck for easy entry and exit, plus it's enclosed on 3 sides and has a cover overhead! The rear side of the hot tub deck faces the mountains and has clear panels at the bottom so you can see the gorgeous view, plus the top 1/2 is screened which lets through the cool evening mountain breeze, as well as the sweet sounds of the mountains! I'm sure I'm not doing the hot tub deck and the mountain view justice, you just have to experience it for yourself! Great location too! In less than 10 minutes we could drive from the cabin to the town below us. We will be back!"
