  • Great place to stay

"As others have said- this is a great place to stay. Clean, up-to-date (bathrooms look very recently updated), amazing views, beautifully decorated. Pride of ownership is evident throughout. There is even a child lock on the sliding door to the balcony for piece of mind if you have small children. In addition, the amenities within Deer Ridge are great for families- indoor pool, outdoor pools, tennis, basketball, and a playground. All of these are steps from the condo except the outdoor pool which is a short drive away. Staff at the front desk are very professional and helpful. There is a small lounge open a few evenings. We ordered burgers and fries our first night- food was great and the prices weren't too bad ($7.00/$8.00 burger/fries). The owners really go out of their way to help make your trip easy and relaxing. Jeff sends an entire packet of information prior to your arrival-- he has really anticipated any questions you might have. As others say- Jeff is VERY responsive to any texts, emails etc. He even texted to check on us our first night to make sure we had no issues. I would definitely recommend staying here!"

  • GREAT time!

"My entire family loved the cabin! The views are amazing and it is a short drive to downtown Gatlinburg (we enjoyed being away from the crowds of tourists!) The drive though the golf course and the geese walking near the creek was always a welcome sight coming and going off the mountain. I enjoyed listening to the birds calling and my grandson even saw a bear close to the cabin! We stayed 7 night in June of 2016. We had 25 people (12 adults and 12 kids under the age of 10) and there was plenty of room for all of us. Some of the kids doubled on futons in the basement, but they are small so it worked well for us. Plenty of table space for all of us to sit down to eat at one time. Always had plenty of hot water, even with everyone showering and the laundry going. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and cooking supplies. The hot tub was relaxing and the kids really enjoyed playing pool in the basement. The swimming pool was perfect, but a little bit of steep, winding roads to get there -- nothing to be afraid of, just be ready for it! All in all, we had a great time and would definitely stay again if we ever went back to Gatlinburg. We really appreciate Susan and Jim sharing their home with us."

  • Great view, convenient location, good for babies/families

"While a trip with two small children doesn't always feel like a vacation, this home ended up working perfectly for our family, including my two year old and seven week old, husband, mother, and our friend. Mom was comfortable on the main level suite as stairs are getting hard for her. Our friend enjoyed having the entire lower level to himself. That bathroom only has a shower but was the largest (the other two are tight). Finally, we ended up being quite comfortable in the upstairs suite, having room for our toddler in her cot on one end of the dresser, and our baby in the Rock 'N Play on the other side next to the very nice armchair (great for nursing). The dresser was perfect for a changing table and we appreciated having a regular tub in the bathroom (it can be hard to bathe kids in a big jetted tub). We never used the hot tub but my mom and our friend enjoyed it. The decks are lovely, I do wish that there had also been the fabulous swing that is on the lower level upstairs as well, but there is a glider. Sadly for me my rear has gotten too wide for the many rocking chairs that were upstairs, but the picnic table is nice for meals. The view is fabulous, a few trees in the way but from that altitude there is much to see! The view from the upstairs suite is also fantastic. There is one cabin below this one and one above, but the woods blocked both while we were there (May). It is too bad this floor plan couldn't have been flipped as there are no windows on the wooded side of the cabin. The largest wall of windows has a view mostly of the cabin across the street. We found everything we needed and the owners are fantastic with very specific instructions for everything. Thank you for the book about the area on the coffee table; we go to Gatlinburg every year but I still learned from that book! Our toddler also enjoyed some games and books found downstairs, and there is an impressive library of novels. The stairs to the lower level are behind a door with a regular knob but you may want a gate for the upper stairs. The internet was 14-20 down and 2 up but congested quickly with video streaming on multiple devices. We had decent cellular service. We were able to squeeze three SUV's, a trailer, and two motorcycles into the driveway - but it is steep! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again! Thank you!"
