  • One of the most relaxing and peaceful places we have ever stayed at.

"We had a wonderful week here on Norris Lake. The double decker dock was amazing and was where we spent most of our time. The lake was beautiful and being secluded at the end of a private cove provided us with the serenity we were looking for. The only negative was all the steps to get to the dock, but they were well worth it. Beautiful place."

  • Beautiful views, very nice home..

"We have stayed at several properties at Norris, and plan to retire here. We brought our children, brother and sister in law, my parents and our grandchildren. This home was ready for us. Beautiful master bedroom, with nice master bath. The home is well decorated and it was very clean when we arrived.Kitchen is well stocked and we brought too many items from my pantry- as there were a lot of spices and things we don't normally have. Bill was easy to work with, and the next door neighbor Bill came over to see what he could do to help when our boat had problems. He gave us numbers and names of people to call for work to be done. Ultimately we just used the pontoon that my parents brought, but he was very helpful. The only downfall to the location of the home was the utter uselessness of our AT&T cell phones. My Brother in law and sister in law had Verizon, and theirs worked most of the time. We could get reception on the lake in a couple of spots and since I work by phone we had to make a couple of trips daily to get messages. We didnt want to leave and look forward to another possible stay at the Vogel's home. Thanks Bill!!"

  • Tranquil and Quaint Cottage

"The history of Wood Duck Inn is almost palpable when you walk in the 50-yr old house--from the vintage furnishings and family photographs to the stacked stone fireplace and knotty pine paneling. Like Wood Duck Inn, we have nearly 50 years of Norris Lake memories ourselves. On this trip, we fished, "bobbed" for hours with friends and family in the beautiful water near the cliff, had cookouts, and read books on the porch swing. Mill Creek cove is perfect for kayaking in the early morning or evening, when jet skiers have worn themselves out and gone home. On our last evening, we watched the Perseid Meteor Shower from our friend's dock. Beds are comfy, plenty of space for privacy, well-equipped kitchen (although the nostalgic Hamilton Beach mixer refused to cooperate!). Great communication with the owners. The home was nearly perfect for us. The ONLY reason we didn't give it 5 stars was beyond Martie and Scrog's control--thanks to TVA, the decreasing water levels on Norris Lake throughout the summer created shallow, rocky waters near the dock. Just something to consider if you have a large boat and want it within footsteps of your vacation home. You know it's a winner when you want to return and do it all over again! Thanks for sharing your treasure Martie and Scrog! Lisa and Tony"

  • Best dock on the lake!!!

"This is our 16th year at Norris lake. Stayed at a lot of houses all over the lake, by far this is the best dock on the lake! Slide was a big hit... Covered bar that provided a lot of shade. Jumping platform and in a quiet cove."
