  • If you enjoy being right on the lake AND having a wonderful place to stay, look no further!!

"This was our first trip to Norris Lake. It was important for me to find that perfect blend of having a great home for our family to stay in AND and have the perfect lakefront location with outdoor amenities. If I could give the Safehouse 10 Stars, I would on all counts! Eight of us stayed here and I couldn't have asked for more perfect accommodations. THE HOUSE: The owners have utilized every bit of space in the home for the perfect vacation spot. Very, very clean and updated with simple yet tasteful furnishings. The home is roomy with 3 bedrooms (really, 4 if you count the bunk area) and 2 full baths. The main living/kitchen/dining areas are on the main level and at the back of the house with all the comforts you need; along with the beautiful view of the lake in the background!! Preparing meals was never more enjoyable with this kind of view. Off the main living area is a deck that goes across the entire back of the house. This was perfect for eating outdoors with yet that wonderful view of the lake! There is also a fire pit which was perfect for smores in the evening. THE LOCATION: The Safehouse is located on a beautiful (and deep) cove with great swimming right off their dock. A lot of time was spent here between swimming and late-night fishing. It's also across the cove from a great (and popular) jumping cliff. We rented a ski boat for a couple of days and explored Norris Lake and found the location of the Safehouse to be in a more quiet part of the lake. Most of the time we felt that we had the entire lake to ourselves. You are just about a 15-minute boat ride to Twin Coves Marina or 30 minutes to Sequoyah Marina. Both of which have good food! Believe me, you CANNOT beat this location! THE OWNERS: I have rented through VRBO several times including places in North Carolina, Florida and Hawaii. We've always had good luck with owners and properties but the Safehouse owners Julie and Eric knocked it out of the park. They were as nice as you could ask for and so easy to work with. Julie was always just an email away. She answered any questions I had with detail; whether it was great places to eat, boat rental recommendations or lake information. It was so obvious to me how much they clearly love their home and Norris Lake and were more than willing to convey that! The Safehouse more than fit our needs for the perfect Norris Lake vacation. I cannot recommend it enough and cannot wait to plan our next trip there!!"

  • Wow! Very nice property! Beautiful scenery, great part of the lake! Would highly recommend!

"Our favorite part of the whole experience was the double decker dock on the water! He basically lived on the water at the dock until dusk, it was beautiful! Once we returned to the house we always found something fun to do whether it be play board games or play in the hot tub, we were never bored! We also got a chance to meet the owner Chuck, who is very friendly and helpful. Just be aware of the 230+ steps, it's a bit of a hike back to the house. Definitely worth it!"

  • Awesome getaway location

"We booked the Grey Goose lodge for an adult weekend on the lake. We had a fantastic time. Great place for couples or bringing the entire family. Loved the private access to the lake via your own boat dock. The lodge is beautiful with plenty of room for 8. Already planning our vacation here for next year."

  • Great place on a fabulous lake

"We rented two of the condo units for total of 8 people, with dogs. We found them to be well-maintained and well-supplied, even for folk like us who enjoy cooking. The water is unbelievably clean, great for swimming. The kayak available for use gives a nice perspective of the lake - there is lots of exploring. The path to the lake is somewhat steep, but we had a 4 year old and a 76 year old who all managed just fine. The road is a dead end so traffic is minimal. We would not hesitate to rent here again, and definitely hope to soon. If you had really young kids you would want to make sure baby gates were available."
