  • Great cabin

"I took my wife for a 3 night stay for Mother's Day and her birthday. The cabin was great and cozy. We hiked a couple of the strenuous trails in the Smoky Mountains National Park during the day and cozied up in the cabin afterward. Then we walked around Gatlinburg one night. We had a blast. The cabin is conveniently located near both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The hot tub was very relaxing after a day of strenuous hiking! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others."

  • Great family vacation.

"Last year I started dreaming of giving my kids and grandkids a gift of a family getaway instead of individual Christmas gifts. With retirement coming soon, I knew it was probably a one time shot for us to do this. With everyone's busy lifestyles so husband wasn't sure it was going to work out. But once I found the Papa Bear cabin, within an hour, I had confirmation from everyone that there was 1 week that everyone could be there and we booked it. The cabin had so much room. We all had our own room with its own bathroom. The grandkids brought air mattresses and created 'cousin camp' in the game room. They had a blast. This cabin was the perfect location, a bit off the beaten path, but so close to everything you could want to do in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. The linens were plentiful and the cabin clean and well stocked with basic needs as well as a few unexpected things. It seems every time I would think of a small appliance to pack, we would go to the description and it was included; crock pot, blender, etc. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a similar vacation."

  • Beautiful a great location!

"This place was in really great shape. When we arrived, the cabin was very clean. There were a couple dead wasps inside. I assume they got in when the cleaning people left the door open. But other than that, we didn't have any issues with any other insects. Considering this is basically in the foothills of the smokies, that is pretty impressive. The location is close to Pigeon Forge and about 30 mins from the smokies. So, there is plenty of activities very close. I only have two recommendations: First, the sleeper sofa in the loft needs to be replaced. It isn't comfortable or safe to sleep on. We needed a place for the kids to sleep so we just took the mattress off the sofa and put in the floor for the kids. So there was a very easy solution to our dilemma. Also, the bottom step looks very similar to the floor one step below (same finish, etc), especially at night when it isn't well lit. My mother (65 yrs old) was with us and she didn't realize she had one more step to go and she took a bad fall. Then one hour after than, my wife also missed that step and took a fall at the same exact step. I recommend better lighting by landing at the bottom of the stairs. But all things said, this place is great. It is clear the owners care about the property and take very good care of it. Thanks for the great time!"
