  • Amazing get away

"The views from this cabin are amazing. The roads up are great and offer some great views of the stream that runs down. We had snow the first night which was a very pleasant surprise. This cabin was very private and hardly saw any other cars coming or going. Hot tub was great for relaxing after a long day of walking and seeing the sites...all we could have asked for and more for our first visit to the area. Big thanks to Terri and Barry for sharing this cabin and allowing us to enjoy it. P.s. found the brown screw on lid about halfway down the drive way....think one of the critters managed to get it off the can last time it was used."

  • Cozy weekend getaway . . .

"When my family of three decided to take a last minute weekend getaway, this cozy cabin made for a great temporary home base to explore the Smokies. The owner was helpful and quick to communicate, and the location was perfect - close enough to the main strip in Pigeon Forge (5 minutes), yet far enough up the mountain to feel as though we were away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We visited Cades Cove (45 minute drive) and the Tuckaleechee Caverns (30 minute drive) one day and then hit the craziness of Gatlinburg the next (30 minute drive). The cabin offered all we needed - a very comfortable king bed upstairs in the loft adjacent to a half bath, and our son was perfectly content downstairs on the queen sofa bed. We ate breakfast in most days and found the kitchen well supplied with the essentials (coffee filters!). Each evening we relaxed in the hot tub on the deck and listened to the crickets and birds close out the day. While the cabin didn't offer much of a view, my guess is that changes when the leaves fall later in the year. While our getaway was family oriented - my husband and I commented that the cabin could also serve as a nice romantic weekend spot - the huge jetted soaking tub downstairs did not get used by us this weekend but was appealing. I would recommend driving a four wheel vehicle in the winter months since the climb to the cabin is steep and winding - but we liked that it was off the main path of traffic. There are several cabins around the area, so you're not isolated but you do have plenty of privacy. Parking was plentiful and right next to the cabin. While not an issue for us - and we liked being perched on the hill - there are 20+ fairly steep steps to climb to get from the driveway to the cabin, so I would not recommend this spot to anyone with mobility concerns. And last but not least - the pictures posted don't lie - we celebrated Christmas in July - which was kind of fun. The cabin was decorated for the December holiday, complete with lights strung on the deck around the hot tub, which gave us all a good chuckle. Thanksgiving was not to be outdone, however, so the turkey (wild) visited the property on our last night there. All in all - it was a great weekend away with family in a cozy spot that provided enough space for us to enjoy time together in the midst of the beauty of the Great Smokey Mountains. We would definitely recommend this spot to anyone."

  • Seriously wow!

"We stayed here over the weekend and this cabin was incredible! I was skeptical since it didn't have any reviews yet but I'm glad we decided to go with it! The driveway had me a little scared going up but we made it in a little corolla and is definitely worth it. It is so peaceful. We could only see one other house way off but that was only cause they had a red roof. Not very far from everything at all maybe a 10 minute drive. It was our first vacation away from our 2.5 year old daughter so we were looking for a little bit of a romantic cabin and it was perfect. The only problems we had were the upstairs tv or lamp didn't work and one of the lightbulbs in the vanity mirror blew when I flipped it on and one in the overheard light had already went out so it was a little dark in there. Nothing major at all. We even booked an extra night! We will definitely be back to stay in this cabin."
