  • Beautiful home and views!

"We had a wonderful vacation here! There were 6 of us that stayed. My husband and I, our 2 children ages 10 and 12, plus mother in law and father in law. We stored our boat trailer at Arrowhead Marina after launching at the ramp, as suggested by the information we received by email to review before our stay. It was a very safe way to store the trailer. Flat-landers beware: Clearwater Drive is a narrow road. The driveway to the home is very steep. This wasn't a problem for us; just something we are not used to. The lake house is great! It was very clean and had extra supplies of all sorts in case you forgot something. Everything in the home was in good, working order. We really appreciated the washer and dryer! No laundry to do when we got home was fantastic. The kids took the basement and had their own bathroom. The adults had the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. The rooms have plenty of storage if you want to put things away. They also have a tv in each bedroom, plus a tv in the living room and family room. Skiing and tubing is perfect on Watts Bar Lake. It is never busy! The fishing was tough, but fishing in August normally is. The boys did catch a couple spotted bass and bluegill off the dock, plus some small mouth and large mouth in the main lake. The upper deck is one of the best places to sit down and read a good book. We spent mornings and evenings out there reading when we weren't hanging by the dock floating. The lower deck was perfect for laying out and soaking up the sun, which we did plenty. The views from the backyard and dock are incredible! This was truly a peaceful and relaxing vacation for our entire family. Thank you for sharing your lake house with us, Ron and Darra. We highly recommend staying here!"

  • One of my all time favorite places to visit

"While I'm no newbie to Grandview Mountain Cottages, I'm generally a fan of the Pinecone Cottage and have spent the majority of my vacations there. Recently I decided that I needed a change and booked a long weekend for Honeysuckle Cottage. I couldn't have made a better decision. The weekend was perfect - even for a hot 4th of July. The hot tub is located on the front porch, which has gorgeous unobstructed views of the mountains and open views of the night sky to watch the stars. Inside the cottage is absolutely beautiful. Tall, open windows - perfect for the early morning sun that floods the living room. The kitchen was fully stocked - with everything we needed to make our own meals. I loved that it had a wood burning fireplace - I cannot wait for a fall/winter stay so I can snuggle up in front of the fire. I spent an entire day lounging in the hammock just listening to the birds and bugs. At night the lightning bugs came out and lit up the woods. We took a short hike to Upper & Lower Piney Falls (about 10 min drive from the cottage - and an easy 30 min hike) with the dogs. Ilaeka & Papa Phil have done such an amazing job at making sure everything is thought of - from movies, books, kitchen utensils, to the perfect country soaps. I cannot recommend this spot enough for family/romantic vacations. Just don't forget to order one of Papa Phil's amazing pizza's (I recommend The Works)!"

  • Private, spacious, peaceful

"Cute older house that has plenty of beds for a big family. We cooked the entire weekend and had everything we needed-just had to stick fridge. Both bathrooms downstairs. King beds and all but two twins upstairs. The kids loved the pool and floats were provided. You can the see pool from the kitchen window and front porch which was great. Closest grocery store was the Piggly Wiggly-5 min away (not great for fresh produce). Ingles was the next- 20 min away. Hubby liked watching the wildlife from the front porch and the fact that the home was very private. Downside was being an hour from Chattanooga and 30 min from Sweetwater (Lost Sea Adventure). We would definitely return and owners were very accommodating and helpful. Living room small but with open kitchen it works."
