  • Cabin was beautiful.

"We loved the cabin and it was everything the info said it was. It was beautiful inside. Everything worked properly. Only bad part was the road going to the cabin. No way to park right at the cabin. We parked on the main road and walked to the cabin. Short walk not a problem. Oh and the tub had not been cleaned because it had what appeared to be dog hair in it. No pets are allowed but something got a bath before leaving before us. But we all loved the cabin, it even had towels for the hot tub at the door. Cookware was sufficient and dishes were pretty. Bring extra tissue paper, garbage bags, but we always do to the cabins. Cabin had lots of windows to see out or you could close the blinds for privacy. Close to town and NOT located on one of the winding mountain roads so access is easy. Over all I would say the cabin is great unless you have a mobility problem, because you will have to walk down the small hill to the cabin."

  • Little piece of paradise!

"We visit Gatlinburg every year and we've stayed in Christy's cabins for the past 4 years. This was our first stay at Nature's Retreat and it was remarkable! You will be conveniently located to town and to the parkway that leads to Pigeon Forge. The cabin is clean and the floor plan is perfect for two families or a small family like mine who likes their individual space! Our friends who vacationed with us stayed with another cabin rental company and their cabin wasn't ready until 3 hours after their check-in time. Their hot tub didn't have water and their heat went out the first night. Christy keeps her cabins well-maintained and is always available to answer any questions! I highly recommend any of her accommodations!"

  • Just What We Were Looking For

"We had a GREAT Labor Day weekend stay at the Bear Drop Inn. From booking, to directions, to the actual stay this is exactly what my family was looking for. The owners were great to work with and were quick to respond to any questions or concerns. As far as the cabin was concerned, it was perfect. The location was great as we spent a day enjoying Ober Gatlinburg and it was very easy to get to town and Pigeon Forge. The kids enjoyed the game room while the adults enjoyed playing cards and the big dining room table. With 10 people every family was able to have their own bed/floor of the cabin. Which worked out great for when you wanted a little privacy. The deck also provided great views. The only negative, for me anyway, is I did not get to see any of the bears that the other reviews raved about. While this made my mom happy, I was really hoping to see some of the native wild life. Guess this just means we will have to book a return trip soon to check this item off the bucket list. Overall, a nice relaxing weekend made even easier by great owners and a great cabin. Thanks so much! Mike"

  • A Step Back in Time

"This is a beautiful property. We loved the old authentic cabin. It has many antique pieces throughout the house that are interesting. We did feel the cabin could have been cleaner. Although it is a very nice cabin, there was thick dust everywhere and it did not appear that any thing had been swept under or behind in a long time. The tub still had hair dried around the drain. A couple pieces of furniture was ready to fall apart and could not be used. The loft could not be used. The stairs were too unsafe for children and it was not big enough for adults. The loft was also extremely hot. Other than these minor problems, we loved it and would definitely return. I love that the owner has old photos and the history of the cabin posted for all to read."
