  • Pictuesque house nestled in the woods.

"Thanks to Joanne and her son, Jason, for their attentiveness during our stay. The house was very clean. It was comfortable with 3 different decks to sit on either for socializing or just being still. The master bed was very comfortable it was solid and snuggly. The bedroom was downstairs and maintained a cool comfortable temperature with out the use of AC or heat during our October stay. Smart TV, blue tooth speakers available, free WiFi, and small desk down stairs if you need to keep up with things back home---This was a nice feature which I planned on but did NOT use. This environment was very conducive to leaving "it" all behind. We brought our 2 dogs who loved exploring the hillside and rocks down by the water. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances (crock pot, blender, toaster oven) and cooking utensils (sharp knives). I always bring my own favorite knives to cook with, it seems other houses we have rented have 1 knife that is crooked and dull. We rented the pontoon boat for 4 days while we were there. Jason's hospitality was refreshing, he was personable, brought cookies to the dogs, and was very helpful while teaching my husband about Norris Lake and how to use the boat."

  • Nice but beware of construction

"We enjoyed our stay at swim n bear. The cabin is very clean and the pool and tub is wonderful. My only complaint is that there is a lot of construction going on and we were not made aware of this. The crews would roll in about 6:30 or so. The would fill the whole road up with vehicles and made it somewhat hard to get in and out. But as far as the cabin goes it was nice to stay in. The only other small problem I had was the fact I had to request my deposit back. On their website it says 7 to 14 days. It had been 3 weeks and I had to inquire about it to get it back."

  • Highly recommended!

"We stayed at "A Little Romance" for eight days to celebrate my wife's birthday. The cabin itself was great; very clean, exactly as advertised and exactly as shown in the VRBO photos. It is in the Sherwood Forest gated community of vacation cabins, so security was not a concern. There was no traffic to speak of within the resort, and very little on the short drive into Pigeon Forge. This cabin is situated such that there is a neighboring cabin only on one side, and there are no windows on that side. The location is pretty much ideal for our purposes. It is far enough from the Parkway that there is no "city noise", yet close enough that we could get to restaurants and such in Pigeon Forge easily. It is at the very southern end of Pigeon Forge; you can go out Connor Heights Road a short distance to the Parkway, turn right, and be at Gatlinburg or the National Park in 5 minutes. We did notice a couple of things wrong when we first got there - the toaster did not work and the shower did not drain well. We called Steve and arranged for him to come out the next day while we were in the park. He fixed those two minor items and a few other things that we had not noticed before. Steve's responsiveness and willingness to do whatever it took to make our stay a good one was very impressive. Our full cleaning deposit was refunded a few days after we checked out. The bed was a little hard for our liking. I know some people like a firm mattress, but we prefer it more cushy. That's just a personal preference thing. I normally don't write reviews, but Steve was so responsive and easy to work with, and the cabin was so perfect for our needs, I felt we owed him a stellar review. We plan on returning to the area some day for another long visit, and I'm hoping "A Little Romance" will be available."

  • Your own personal resort

"This property really is a great getaway! Very comfortable set-up. While the interior of the home is very nice and comfortable, it is the outside area that truly shines. There is literally something to please everyone- young and older. The hot tub and pool area with the outside kitchen area are simply great. It was colder weather during our stay, but we could envision what a great place this would be in the warmer months. Actually it was excellent hot tub weather. Views of the lake can be enjoyed from about every room. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch with comfy furniture and great views. There is also a fire pit and lounge area at the bottom of the easily traversed steps leading to the dock. It was nice having the fireplace and tv's in every almost every room. The steam shower in the master bath was a real treat. The kitchen had everything and more to prepare a meal, as well as, plenty of dinnerware and glasses for outdoor use. Very comfortable king bed in the master ( we didn't use the other bedrooms). Linens were of good quality. We rent many homes during the course of the year and this is a favorite. Oh, I shouldn't forget about the pool table, foosball, games, and movies, wifi, ect. Certainly recommend."
