  • Nice Amenities and Beautiful View

"When I first saw this listing there were no reviews posted since 2014. After contacting the owner, she quickly emailed me a link to her management's website where I found many positive reviews for 2015. I am sure she would do the same for you. This mountain chalet is exactly as pictured. The initial booking process with Chalet Village Properties was easy with one phone call to the number on this website. They provide driving directions to their office and to the chalet. The drive up the mountain to the chalet takes about 15 minutes. The chalet was very clean, well maintained, and nicely decorated. There is a covered walkway to the covered hot tub, just outside the back door. There are other homes nearby, but they are nestled in the trees and you just don't notice them. It was quiet and peaceful. Downtown Gatlinburg is at the foot of this mountain. We arrived during the busy foliage season. During our stay the main street in Gatlinburg was congested with traffic. We found eating out and parking easier in Pigeon Forge so we took the Gatlinburg By Pass and 441which is a very short, pretty drive to Pigeon Forge. The Log Cabin Pancake House in Pigeon Forge has good breakfast choices and was reasonably priced. To see the mountain foliage we first stopped at the Gatlinburg Welcome Center / National Park Visitor Center on Hwy 441 between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and got a map of the Smoky Mountains. We drove on 441 to Clingman's Dome, the highest elevation in the mountains. Then we took Newfound Gap to Cherokee and Soco in South Carolina. Then back tracked on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Hwy 441 and on to Gatlingurg. The heavy, stop and go traffic in the mountains averaged 6-9 miles per hour on this Saturday and the trip took all day. The weather was sunny and provided a clear view of the high mountain colors. We did the foliage tour in New Hampshire last year, but the Smoky Mountain foliage won the prize this year. I would recommend this chalet for anyone touring Gatinburg, Pigeon Forge, or the Ober Mountain Ski area. Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge are both full of fun things to do. The area appeals to all ages. We enjoyed our trip to this chalet and the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Whitson and Jistel couples from Texas"

  • Wonderful Cabin on the River, Great place to vacation, Worth Every Penny!

"We stayed here 4 nights with 3 adults, 4 kids and had a wonderful time! The cabin and surrounding area is gorgeous. A little tight with 7 of us, but everyone had a place to sleep, had plenty of towels and everything we needed. It was great to walk into a nice cool cabin too, because it was definitely HOT out! We also did a lot of grilling and cooking, so the kitchen was no problem. The kids (11 through 15 years old) - had a great time fishing when the river was down, then swimming/tubing when the river was up. Best of both worlds! We all ended up buying river rafts and floated down the river directly to the cabin for 2 of the 4 days we were there, so much fun! The boys caught some nice bluegill from the river, it's very pretty in the mornings when you can see the bottom. Easy to dangle a worm in front of a fish! Conveniently located to tourist areas like Ruby Falls and the Lost Sea, but we ended up just staying at the cabin. We did hit Chattanooga one evening with the photographers of the group and got some nice night shots from the local bridges there. We took a lot of pictures! Even some of butterflies checking out the pretty flowers on the property. :-) Cabin was nice and clean, has everything you need to feel at home - right when you walk in the door. The owners are very kind, easy to deal with, and quite helpful with local info! We highly recommend Welcome Valley Village cabins, and definitely hope to go back soon! The surrounding area with the dock, access to the river, hammocks, fire pit, grills, etc. is perfect for families. If you're on the fence about renting here, just do it. You'll love it!"
