  • Family Fun

"Thanks for a great spot to host our family. We had a great birthday celebration for my mom and my daughter. Great food, drinks, watching football in the basement, enjoying the hot tub and view from the upper deck."

  • Amazing!

"What a wonderful close get away for a bunch of chicks to reconnect to laugh, cry and pray together. I would highly recommend arriving in daylight hours as the last few miles are a little tricky. There was 7 in our party and ample bedding available. The only thing, we wish we had more comfy space on the main floor for sitting around, but because of the amazing deck with comfy chairs and perfect weather, we made it work outside. THANK YOU WILSONS for sharing your home away from home with us!!!"

  • Lovely home, view, and access to lake

"We just returned from this property and had an incredible time. The decks are fabulous with a gorgeous view. The house is really great, lots of room, outdoor furniture, kitchen with everything, laundry, and views from all three floors. The town of Cookeville is a 1/2 hour drive away. I suggest checking in with enough food to get you through the first day, see what supplies you need, then head into town. We visited the Wal-Mart on the way in once, and then only one other time when we figured out the supplies we needed for 4 days. We made much use of the canoe, however, getting it up and down the bank was a bit of a pill, I would suggest creating some kind of easier way to get it down there and back up. Not sure what that would be, but the bank is steep, and the canoe is heavier than it looks. Combined with slick grass, mud, rock, and roots, it wasn't easy. There is a boat ramp very close, but we didn't have any way to get it there, so we had to get it up and down the hill. But, the payoff is worth it. Having unlimited use of the canoe is a fantastic amenity to this property. We stayed out several hours a day, exploring all the nooks and beaches this lake has to offer. We had the lake nearly to ourselves. We saw deer, a coyote, a bald eagle and blue heron. We loved being out at sunset, just gorgeous. In regard to the review about it not being private, we found that once you got in the house, it seemed very private. Your view is completely out to the lake. I had to cover some windows with sheets (curtains would be appreciated!) but most of the windows are facing the lake, and there is noone out there to look in. The neighborhood was virtually empty at this time, we only heard one neighbor two doors down, twice when she was outside on the phone. Other than that, we only heard people at the boat ramp. Being that the area had no rain for an extended period, I didn't get the vibrant fall colors I was looking for, but I would 100% return to this property. Thank you!"

  • A Great Gathering Spot!

"My husband and I rented this spacious home to accommodate a variety of friends from a variety of age groups from various parts of the country arriving and departing at whim. Not one time did we feel there were too many of us to function. There was plenty of room in the loft for three 20 something young men and a couple who brought an inflatable bed while the two master suites downstairs housed those of us over 60 (ouch). Perfectly located from Interstate 40, it was an easy trip for our friends form North Carolina, Ohio and Nashville to join us. All of us either enjoy cooking or eating so the house was always filled with wonderful smells, plenty to eat and lots of laughter. Not one time did we feel like we were on top of one another. The days were spent with each going their way (I often managed quiet time to read). All in all, a great place for many to come together. The cabin is sparsely but nicely furnished and was very clean. Remember that it is a steep stairway to the front door and a few trips up and down with lots of groceries means you need to be in shape or have plenty of young men around to do the hauling :-). The owners of the property were very congenial, accommodating and helpful."
