  • A beautifully appointed historical property.

"Our recent stay at Snowden was exactly as presented and more. Martha's love for her home is apparent in every detail and her hospitality beyond compare. We have stayed in homes all over the world. This was our favorite...hands down."

  • Cute, Comfortable, Clean and Relaxing!

"We had a very enjoyable stay at this property! It was perfectly situated for the activities we planned: visiting the adjacent wildlife refuge; Discovery Center in Union City; fishing; relaxing; and enjoying access to the water. We couldn't locate a canoe rental place (so plan ahead if you want to rent a canoe), but power boats are available for $50-$70 dollars for a half day. The property is situated on a quiet street of small homes in close proximity to each other on the creek side of the street (the other side of the street is mostly wooded). Although the homes are close together, the layout and landscaping of the home provide ample privacy both indoors and in outside seating areas. The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming. Loud/late night partiers would probably not be a good fit for this peaceful neighborhood. Property owners Bob and Carole live next door, but were not at all intrusive (I never even met them) and responded quickly to a few questions I texted. The home is quite comfortably furnished and very clean - you'd never know from the quality, condition, or smell that it is a dog-friendly property. Some (non-threatening) neighborhood dogs roam freely, and we enjoyed meeting them on our walks. The master bed has a comfortable mattress and high quality linens, providing a great night's sleep. The home has a large flat screen TV and wifi, but no cell reception. We drove 5 minutes to the wildlife refuge visitor's center when we needed a signal. We had all pots, pans and utensils needed to easily grill and cook. The kitchen is stocked well enough that no immediate trips to the grocery store were needed to get settled in. Dish soap, paper towels, coffee/tea/filters, salt, pepper, sugar and various spices were available. Backup garbage bags, foil/saran wrap, and laundry soap were not provided, so be prepared to provide those if you need them, and you may want to bring your own food storage containers if you use them for leftovers. The ice machine is very convenient and there is also a reach-in chest freezer. There were good restaurants within 15 minutes drive (homemade onion rings at Boyette's definitely worth a return trip). All the locals we met were super friendly. We were very happy with our stay, highly recommend the property, and would definitely return to this home on future visits. Thank you Carole and Bob for a wonderful family getaway!"

  • Perfect house - perfect location!

"This beautiful home was perfect for our Labor Day trip to visit a son and daughter in law who recently moved to Memphis. There was plenty of room for everyone - five separate bedrooms! Check in process was simple and super friendly. The kids, even all of our frown kids, loved the animals and the water. Who knew you could find seclusion in the middle of the city? We found everything we needed in the house and had lots of room to gather and enjoy. You won't be disappointed with a stay here. Thank you for making our trip a delight!"

  • Cozy Place in Midtown Memphis

"My wife and I enjoyed our 9th anniversary in Memphis this past weekend. We enjoyed the suite #12 with balcony, it was peaceful and relatively quite almost every night (nothing the owner can do about unruly people in restaurant parking lot at 2 in the morning). The unit was clean and smelled fresh every time we walked in. The weekend of our stay it appeared that maintenance was just finishing up installing a nice brick patio and grill area, assuming for future use for guests. The owner was very accommodating the first night of our stay when I couldn't find the TV remote; she actually sent the maintenance people over with a new remote and then it was discovered I failed to open a drawer completely to find the remote; in my defense who puts a TV remote in a drawer in a different room anyway. Overall our experience was great and if we ever get to Memphis again; we'll probably stay here. Only issue we had was with parking, the lot was very small and tight. Without properly painted and indicated parking spots, some guests were parking like dips by taking up what could have been enough room for 2 vehicles or parking so close that we actually had to climb over the center console to get in. On our last night we went back early to relax before dinner and decided not to leave again so we didn't lose the spot in the lot, instead we walked to the corner bar for dinner instead of heading to a local restaurant."
