  • This place rocks!

"Our family of four stayed here and loved every minute of it. Easy drive to Big Bend National Park, State Park, Terlingua, etc. But.. we ended up spending one entire day just hiking the property attached to the house - magnificent views and rock hunting. Bring something to do in the evenings - we played dominoes and had a blast. There's no TV but there is WIFI so my young adults weren't totally at a loss. Kitchen is fully functional to prepare dinner. So glad we got to stay here!"

  • Wonderful!

"We had a great 4 night stay at the rancho - 2 families of friends, total 4 adults and 4 kids ages 11-6 and loved it! It is conviniently located to go to the Big Bend (about 1 hour to any corner of the park), easy to explore Terlingua and more - making it a great base for exploring the area. The house has everything you need and more - we cooked all our meals at home (breakfasts and dinners) - there was more than enough of everything - plates, mugs, silverware, pots, pans etc. We were happy to use the grill for bbq. In addition there are so much small extras: walking sticks, flash lights, books about the area, night sky guide, porch with table , chairs, rocking chair... So much fun!!!! We spent the evenings at the porch stargazing and even saw some "falling stars". Hope that are wish to come back will come true!"

  • Much better than expected!

"We booked this for just two of us, because we wanted a home base that was a HOME for our five days of exploring Big Bend. This place was absolutely perfect. Plenty of space, plenty of privacy outside, and we loved catching sight of the animals as they made their way to the watering hole in the front. A quick fox, a merry snuffling band of Javelinas, a small pack of mule deer, and birds galore. We had everything we needed to cook together, and so many things we weren't expecting. It's a very remote location, which for us was perfect, but I recommend arriving in daylight hours. My partner is a photographer, and he loved shooting star trails right from our own backyard! We've only just left today, and have already emailed about dates for next year. :)"

  • Relaxing Getaway near Big Bend

"My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend getaway. We spent a day enjoying the immediate area & Terlingua and a day in Big Bend National Park; this was conveniently situated for both. I researched many options in the area before booking, and I'm convinced that this is one of the best deals I could find (considering that it still has many modern/"on-the-grid" amenities). The place is even better in person than it is online! I'll echo what many others have said in that our stay was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. We're already talking about returning later this year!"
