  • Clean, affordable choice for our vacation

"We stayed the two nights at this location for our trip to south padre island. PROS: number is 2 is on the ground floor with nearby pool access. The beach was a short 10 minute walk away. Parking was large enough to accommodate two vehicles in each unit having their own assigned slot. The inside was spacious and had plenty of room to hold all four of us during our stay and having two bathrooms to share was a plus. It was nice that previous guests had left behind various beach items inside one of closets, but make sure you check it before taking it because some were broken. CONS: the dishes that were left in the cabinets appears to have not been cleaned up very well by previous occupants. The refrigerator and dishwasher could both use a deep cleaning and The amount toilet paper available inside was less than a full roll per bathroom, but we were re supplied by the Ramada hotel after making a request. Overall given the chance we would return to the location for another trip."

  • Location, location, location ~ Great Stay

"Gathered the family for the long 3 day Labor Day weekend... We needed a place that was "kid friendly". A place where we wouldn't have to worry if they put their feet up or spilled a soda on the floor (none of which happened anyway).. Although not fancy, this canal home came well equipped, is cozy and casual. The beds are comfortable, the place was clean and there was plenty of room for everyone (7 adults, 6 "tweens"). The kitchen had everything we needed (I did bring our ice crushing blender) and there was plenty of room to serve meals at the counter and still seat everyone between the dining area and the stools. We even baked up some chocolate cookies! The two separate TV areas (one up, one down) worked well for our group as the youngsters enjoyed their own space for board games and computer time. Everyone especially enjoyed fishing and swimming in the canal and there is even a crab trap to use! There is an underwater light so we fished well into the very late hours as well. We caught a few, but threw everything back for the next renters! We enjoyed our 11 ft. Boston Whaler which we were able to launch at the boat launch and tie up right in front of the house.. Motored over to the restaurant at the marina Friday night for a lovely dinner. Fresh bait, ice, beer and more were conveniently purchased there also.. We also enjoyed some beach time at Sea Isle's Gulf side private beach. This place has incredible views from the deck!! Sunsets in West Bay were spectacular and the mornings were serene and beautiful. The location attributed to clearer water and West Bay accessible which is exactly what we wanted. The owner was easy to communicate with and very patient with all my questions. He made the process easy and comfortable. We would go back and do this all over again. This property shows some wear, but it was comfortable, spacious, clean with comfy furniture & great A/C. Location superb!!"

  • Great view and stay

"The owner is very nice and responds quickly to any questions. My family and i decided to take a last minute trip and it was great. The view is amazing and the very short walk to the beach is perfect. The kitchen is big and great for entertaining, rooms are very spacious. Will definitely stay here again no doubt about it. Couldn't have chosen a better place."

  • Cozy comfort

"When I started looking for a place to stay for a couple of nights I found out the hotels were outrageous. The Hemisphere Dreamer came up on VRBO and I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. This upstairs apartment is more than adequate for one or two people. The place is spacious and very clean. There is one other apartment upstairs and two located in the basement level. A secluded patio is located down the back stairs where I found a large gas grill and a table with chairs. The kitchen was stocked with a few pots and pans but there are plenty of cups, glasses. A coffee maker is available but be warned, the counter top slopes quite a bit and the coffee runs off of the lid while brewing and it makes a mess. The queen size mattress is very comfortable with crisp clean sheets and the bathroom is stocked with plenty of towels. A laundry room is in the basement with a washer and drier and you'll find an assortment of clean beach towels in there. The street parking is reserved for residents with permits and the owners left me a parking permit in the kitchen. So, the Pleasure Pier traffic was not a bother at all. Every time I pulled up to the house I had a place to park. The Pleasure Pier is right across the parking lot and Seawall Blvd. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance from the house and the beach right there, too. Rosenberg (25th St) is at the end of the block it's a direct route to the Strand, Harborside and the Historic District. I highly recommend the Hemisphere Dreamer and I'll certainly look for availability the next time I need to stay in Galveston."
