  • great weekend

"Very nice unit within an acceptable complex. This unit was on fifth floor which is top level. Great view of the ocean and beach and pool below. Balcony is very pleasant to sit upon but not really wide enough for Alfresco dining. Finishes of this unit are quite high level, nice ceramic floors, good quality furniture, modern flat screen TVs. Appliances and Wi-Fi all modern and work well. Ice cube trays were put away underneath counter so there was no ice available for the first day. There is no ice bucket so we had to make do with a tupperware pot. Pool and hot tub are pretty good, no problems, but show a little wear and their age. Condo complex is ok, but no big deal. Very good beach access. Also volleyball net in the sand (bring your own vball). The condo complex only permits 1 parking space per unit. This was sort of a problem, as we had a 3 bedroom condo with 8 people. 1 car space is not reasonable, other cars need to park on the street. The owner Janet replied quickly to emails. Rental management is locally performed by Service 24, I saw some bad reviews about them, but we had no problems. They are tight on toilet paper, paper towels, dishwash soap, etc. Bring everything yourself. Beach chairs and sand toys in the closet are a nice touch."

  • A Little Bit of Paradise!!

"This property is in a perfect location on South Padre Island. We loved the ground floor with the view and easy access to the beach. The grounds were so clean and well-manicured. The condo is well appointed. It has all the comforts of home and then some. The security gate was a comfort and the security guard checked our car for the appropriate tag each time we entered. We would love to put this on our return list. A "diamond" of a property. Thanks for having us."

  • Overall a great stay

"We stayed for 4 days. The SPI management company is great to deal with, they are very friendly and quick to answer questions. You will need to print and sign the contract and fax/email back to them, so make sure you have a printer available and have a way to send it back to them. You call them when you are 30 minutes out, and when you are at the bridge and they have someone meet you at the property. We arrived to Continental #104. First, they do not have parking in front of the property, you have to park across the street, either on the street or in a parking lot for residents/visitors. There is a locked gate and they give you the code, so it's secure. Upon getting inside, it's definitely like the photos, except the couch is a bit run down and odd to sit in because of the 2 cushions, just don't sit down the middle of it. There was some damage to walls, but they say they note all of that and should not worry about it. There is a TV in each bedroom and living room. There is an XBOX for games, but we didn't use it. DVD player available too. You have everything you need in the kitchen, except pot holders (when you use the oven, you kind of want them). You get dish soap and 2 tabs for the dishwasher. They pretty much provide you with linens and towels, and get one little bottle each of shampoo/conditioner/body wash. But if you are staying for more than a day, you will most likely bring your own. The little bars of soap were sufficient for us. You will need to bring your own detergent if you intend on washing clothes. There is no direct access to the beach from the patio, which is nice in space, since it spans the length of your condo from living room to master bedroom. The master bedroom bed is _extremely_ noisy, when getting in, changing positions or getting out, but very comfortable (not firm though, in case you like firm beds). The bunk beds are possibly queen or double beds (top and bottom), so they are a good size. The view of the ocean is a bit limited, but that was because we wanted the convenience of the first floor (picture on site depicts correctly). There is a pool, which we didn't end up using. There is a wash off area by back gate. You can see the bay fireworks (Thurs and Fri night) from the front of the condo, but probably best if you were on the bay and we didn't get to stay for the beach fireworks on Saturday night. Beach isn't too crowded in this area. Overall, we had fun, felt at home. Renting a condo beats renting a hotel any time."
