  • Nice home, great owners

"The owner was very accommodating by accepting our reservation within a few days of arrival. We had stayed here some years back for he 1st time and recalled the stay being a good one. This trip we had a party of 10 people. There was plenty of room for everyone. The home was clean and well stocked with most any need. We used the grill during this stay. I go to fish and the house's location is good as it is close to quite a few fishing spots. A good time was had by all. This is the place to stay when in need of a vacation rental for a group of people large or small."

  • Owners Really Made Us Feel at Home

"I traveled with my wife and 5-year-old to Rockport this past weekend and we stayed in the Grouper cottage. The owners went out of their way to make us feel at home with homemade chocolate chip cookies and a little treat for our son. The turtle food was a huge hit as well as we all enjoyed going to the dock to feed the locals. This is an awesome place if you have small kids, especially boys. We saw a wide variety of lizards, frogs, toads and turtles while staying here and our boy loved that. The upstairs kid's room is also really cool. A bit of a pirate theme here was really enjoyed by our son. He told me that he was pretty sure a pirate once lived there. The cottage was in great shape and the pantry was well-stocked also. Lots of cookware as well as spices, condiments coffee, creamer, etc. Ice maker in the freezer too! Lots of fun games to play under the TV in the living room and there's also a DVD player in the living room. All the TV's were hooked up to DirecTV with HBO too which was a plus! The outside patio and common areas are really nice. Cool lights at night and super peaceful and relaxing. Even had a hammock by the gazebo. We will definitely be back. This was about 5 minutes further to the beach and the rest of town (it's in the country) but worth the extra mileage. Felt much more private than where we usually stay. That's a big plus! We also found a great restaurant close by (Paradise Keys) which we will also visit again. Thanks again to our amazing hosts! We had a blast and couldn't recommend enough."

  • Awesome View of Bay & Clean Home

"The house is cozy and surprisingly spacious in the living room. I love the layout of the house. It is small but because the bedrooms are all in the back, completely divided by the living room, the living room is so open and walkable. The French doors open up to the bay and the view is so nice! The bathrooms had nice towels that were newer than most rentals I've been to. They also color cordinate the towels with the décor in the house. The towels were a good amount (hand/bath). They were not tattered or old like other places. That is my pet peeve. I dont' understand how you can provide old torn towels to renters? The last place I was at was unbelievable. The back patio is just the right size with plenty of lawn chairs. We were a group of 6 and we did not feel stuffy at all. The lighted pier is nice and we caught a handful of fish out there. There is also a crab trap! It looks relatively new so that is also generous of the owners to have that there. We caught some big blue sturdy meaty crabs. The second day my husband put fish heads in with the chicken and uh .. I was told that the crabs get confused with the smell and don't want it. Darn! I would of had a bunch more crab. SO, take out the fish head when you are there. lol . We also bought our kayaks and were able to put the in the water and go out on the bay. We did catch a few red drum which was nice but not too big. It is a very relaxing ride because there are no passing boats! Love that. The house is clean and everything you need is there. The owners are very generous with sharing the household items such as paper towel roll, toilet paper, plastic utensil (a whole bag), foil, plastic wrap, house cleaners, etc, and a LOT of trash bags (not just 2 like other rental houses), and even body wash !! It was amazing. 3 whole new bottles and in each bathroom a bottle! I don't think the previous renters left that. I wouldn't. Ha ha. Even dishwashing detergent and hand soap were abundant ! I have never been in a house that has so much for the renters. I really did enjoy this house more than other rentals in the area. Diane was a delight to work with. She was quick to respond to email or calls. Everything went smoothly. I highly recommend the house. I have great pictures but don't see a place to add that on this review. I will look and see if there is after I hit submit."

  • Perfect beach vacay!

"A group of us celebrated a friend's birthday with a fishing trip to Rockport, and we rented this property. It was PERFECT for 8 adults, 2 teenagers and a 6 year-old because there was something for everyone! There was ample space, and no one felt like they were too cramped, and the pool was a hit w/ everyone -- it was great to come home from fishing and relax in the pool. You are close to fishing and restaurants as well as a great walk right along the coastline. This was a great place, and I'll definitely be a return customer!"
