"Our family of 8 (ages 12-90 and from 3 states) found Casa Familiar to be one of the best vacation homes we have visited. We were looking for a place to accommodate active young teens and their parents as well as sedentary elderly grandparents. Casa Familiar fit like a glove. The owner, Trish, was very responsive and accommodating. She took my phone calls and answered all my questions as we were deciding on a place. The house is clean and comfortable with great access to the beach. It boasts a well appointed kitchen which allowed us to have amazing home cooked meals (I admit we are a bit of a foodie family!). Each room has a bathroom en suite with a powder room on the ground floor. The floor plan is perfect for splitting up the various groups as the grandparents enjoyed the first floor bedroom with easy access to the living area, kitchen, patio and pool, while the younger members enjoyed the upstairs bedrooms as well as the game room and sunrise balcony. But the story that sets this property apart from anything else is how kind and generous the property manager, Kathie, was to us. When I learned the Idaho brother couldn't make the trip at the last minute, I was concerned for my 88 and 89 year old parents, as they were arriving early and would not have a family member taking then to the house as we had planned. I called Kathie to ask about ground transportation, and she offered to go to the Brownsville airport to escort my parents to the house. That's 45 minutes each way for her! She took them to the house, took their luggage in for them, then took them to a nearby restaurant so they could get lunch. I was very touched and so grateful to Kathie that my parents didn't have to wait 4 hours until the next of our group landed in Harlingen. I don't think you get that type of treatment in most places. We had a beautiful vacation and hope to come again next fall. Thank you to Trish, Kathie, and the wonderful cleaning staff from la familia in California, Indiana and Texas."
