  • Great Location and Value

"The condo was as described. It was well furnished for sleeping, cooking, television and wifi. The pool and hot tub were great. It is a short walk to the beach and centrally located for access to the rest of the island. You can walk over to Blackbeard's for a nice meal and be sure to try their Mexican Shrimp Cocktail if you like shrimp (it is large). Parking which was mentioned in another review isn't a problem if everyone follows the system. The bird sanctuary and turtle rescue are close by attractions."

  • Relaxing, thoughtful, close by everything, excellent owner

"I've traveled all over the world in the last 13 years and I have never stayed in a condo like this. It was an excellent experience. Most condos only have a front balcony. This one has 3 doors to each of the 3 sides of the condo, with a balcony that wraps around 33% of the condo. There are only 2 deck chairs so use your beach chairs for 3+ people. Speaking of the balcony, the employees at the front desk absolutely do NOT tolerate any sort of bathing suits, towels, etc to be on the balcony to dry off. Not on the railing. Not on the chairs. Nowhere. Our stuff just wouldn't dry very much in the condo so we had to use the dryers@ 2.00 a pop everyday; make it a full load! Change machine limited to $1 & $5. If you don't have that, they direct you to walk 2 blocks across the street to a gas station to get change. Same with wristbands, general cash and exact change when you check in. So, bring change and plenty of cash. BTW, there is no Chase in SPI. Use the Chase in Port Isabel. In Port Isabel, there's a Walmart. (There's not really anything to shop at on SPI except overpriced beach gear stores but more about the resale shops in a sec!) It does things a little different. They offer 1/2 ct of almost everything bc vacationers only need supplies for 3-7 days! 5 ct of trashbags, 50 sheet paper towels, 2 oz dish soap, etc! And the prices are 1/2 cut too. Supplies you'll need for the condo: dish soap, trashbags, paper towels, (extra) rolls of toilet paper, foil, laundry soap, plastic wrap, cooking spray, seasonings. Hint: use travel bottle for dish soap and bring some yourself. Resale shops! There are 3 of them. 1 benefits the only animal rescue group on SPI. If you need beach towels, supplies, clothes, condo stuff, go there! Save $$$ on gently used stuff, support SPI animal rescue! We found giant beach towels for $4! Much cheaper than overpriced stores, environmentally friendly and they have everything you need. Transport: the yellow/blue Wave shuttles are free, safe, clean, fast, comes every 30 min! Aquarius has private beach access but not private beaches. Beach guys get there @ 9am, take up premium areas with their umbrellas/chairs and then charge you $25 for the day to use them! Don't fall for it! Beach tip: go north on Gulf blvd ALL the way to beach access #6. Drive on the beach, set up shop and spend the day where NOBODY else is! $12 entry fee; $2 refund when you return trash in plastic bag. IMMEDIATELY GO TO CAR WASH AND RINSE UNDERCARRIAGE OF CAR!"

  • Wonderful large house

"This beach house has everything to offer a larger group. It is huge and set up so well and is so functional. It was so clean and well kept. Amy was so helpful and professional to deal with along with Salvador when we arrived. It is super close to the beach and access has boardwalk. Fantastic house and thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

  • Nice place, hope we get a chance to come back again.

"The description for this condo just does not do it justice. We were looking for something in a residential setting with 2 master suites for 2 couples who were going to share the unit (close to retirement age, no kids). This condo fits the situation perfectly with 2 master suites, each with their own full bathroom and queen beds. The pool and spa are awesome. The description also does not mention the fact that you have the pool to yourselves, it is not shared. And the pool is entirely enclosed with a privacy fence. We swam, played a lot of cards, cruised the boulevard and walked from store to store. If you are new to S. Padre Island, do not miss Clayton's Beach Bar, or Wanna Wanna Bar to get the full beach experience. Drive north on highway 100 for a ways out of town and beach access #2 or #4 are paved and for a $10 fee you can drive right on the beach for miles. No toting chairs, coolers, etc. Sit right outside your car and enjoy the surf. We did have problems with the property manager. The owners are very nice and accommodating. However, when we tried to call the property manager, Sal, to arrange for our arrival we were never able to contact him. We got there and had to knock on neighbors doors, one of whom had the owners phone number and they were able to get us the code to get in. Not impressive. The queen bed in the lower suite has a broken box frame that creates a hole in the bed. Three adjoining slats were broken. We called the manager, he came out and looked at it and we never heard back from him the whole next week we were there. We had to scrounge boards out of the garage to bridge the broken slats to make the bed useable. The bed needs to be fixed. Some lights were not working in the entry area, we reported it, some were fixed, some were left inoperable. Our suggestion is to have the owner's phone number handy and deal directly with them."
