  • Excellent July 4th !!!

"I booked this property for my family for the July 4th holiday. I was not disappointed. It was plenty space for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Upon arrival the check-in instructions were very easy to follow. We booked this property for it's location which is close to everything yet far enough away from the high traffic area of east seawall. The bedrooms were nice and cozy, my wife enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. The master bedroom had a beautiful gulf view which was a treat to wake up to in the mornings. There were televisions in each room , this gave everyone there own little space. My wife cooked our July 4th meal in the kitchen, which was stocked with everything she needed. My family really enjoyed staying here, everything was perfect. We will return in the near future. Thank you! Tips: Bring extra towels, dish detergent, extra trash bags, toiletries(especially soap), and paper towels for the kitchen"

  • Diamond in the rough.

"My boyfriend and I decided to come to the Galveston area for a long weekend and wanted to bring our three dogs (children), and the kemah cottage made that happen. The backyard was spacious and secure so the dogs could play outside while we were gone without us worrying; the back door also has a small doggie door which was great for our older dog, as she could go in and out as she needed. The cottage itself is not in the most fancy of neighborhoods, but when you step into the cottage, none of that matters. You are in your own world. The covered parking is secure as well, and the cottage has both front and back porches with sitting areas and charcoal grill on the back. Inside the cottage it is so cute! It has hardwood floors with antique furniture, and everything you could need, including a washer and dryer, which came in handy after a day at the beach. The a/c is window units, which is fine but may take some getting used to for those who are accustomed to central air. They cooled well and we were very rarely hot unless we had just got in from being outside too long. There are two king beds, and OMG they are comfortable. So much better than hotel mattresses! The kemah cottage location was ideal for us. We enjoyed the kemah boardwalk more than the pleasure pier, and it is about a 3-5 min drive To the boardwalk. It's about a 20 min drive to the Galveston pleasure pier, which was not too bad of a drive and definitely nice since we don't like to be in the middle of all the craziness of downtown all the time. This was a relaxing and worry-free getaway for us because of the kemah cottage. The owner is also really nice and let us run back by after check out when I left my sweatshirt, very sweet lady."

  • Great location

"Great location for the Galveston area. Easy to get to...easy to get around on the island. No more than 10 minutes from just about anything you want to get to (Pleasure pier, The Strand, etc.). Alva and Joe were great to work with in the booking process...didn't have any issues so can't speak to if they're good to deal with in that regard, but I would imagine so. The condo is ground floor by the smaller of the two pools. Great for when you're lugging a ton of stuff from the don't have to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to it. Definitely a plus. The second bedroom closet has some beach/pool accessories that were great (boogie boards, umbrella, beach chairs). Both bedrooms and bathrooms met all our needs. Kitchen/fridge/laundry made it easy to make lunches and such and keep beach/bath towels and clothes clean. The only "complaints" are that the oven takes a long time to heat up. I've seen that in some of the other reviews. Didn't impact our stay but did make it interesting when cooking a frozen pizza one night. The other is the Wifi in the condo was spotty at best. This is more of a reflection on Comcast than the owners. It is...ya know...Comcast. I would stay here again if we were to be in the area and would recommend this unit/complex (The Dawn)."

  • Pleasant and roomy!

"My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Serendipity this past weekend. We had 6 people fly in from all over the country and stay a full weekend. Plenty of room and space to draft our fantasy baseball teams and with the patio out back, we were able to spread out and really enjoy each others company. The convenience of nearby restaurants and bars was great as well so we didn't need to drive all weekend. Will definitely come back for our next visit."
