  • A wonderful stay!

"Excellent place to stay! We were able to walk to many sites within a mile or two: the Capitol, the University, 6th Street, the Congress Avenue bridge (aka, "bat bridge"), the Umlauf Sculpture Gardens, Lady Bird Lake, etc. The house is cozy, clean, comfortable, and fully stocked. Even though it is close-in to town, it is quiet, sheltered by trees from traffic noise, and (mostly) we slept well. We would have given a 5-star rating except for the critter in the walls that woke us with it's banging at 6:30 AM! The house is on a small arroyo, so it is close to nature. We called Judy, who was immediate in her action, and I'm sure it will be gone by the time you come to visit. Thank you, Judy, for everything! We hope to be back."

  • Great for my whole family

"My family went to Austin this past weekend for a wedding. We chose to stay at the Garden St. House because it offered the most affordable price for the amount of sleeping and seating space my family needed. The house has a unique feel to it, which resonates with the "Keep Austin Weird" slogan. My family appreciated the unique setting, especially since it accommodated all of us within our budget. There was enough sleeping for 8, and we could also all sit in the living room together to talk and play games. We could also all fit comfortably around the kitchen area to enjoy our daily brunch together. The location was very convenient. This house was a great fit for my family's 4-day getaway."

  • Agave House Rocks!!

"Just wanted to let everyone know this is an awesome house! Our car club the Mordoors go to Austin every year to the Lonestar Roundup. We really enjoyed our stay. Great accommodations, everything was clean, and very neat. Great beds and the A/C was spectacular. Living in Texas and being outside all weekend coming home to cold air conditioning well need I same more! Again thanks for the trouble free stay! Curtis"

  • Home, sweet home-away-from-home!

"We are a couple who regularly visit our daughter at the University of Texas at Austin. We usually stay with her, but this time we wanted to be nearby, but on our own. The location was perfect for us and from our first contact with the owner, Deirdre, we were delighted with her welcoming and helpful efforts to accommodate us in every way from start to finish. Although she was away during our stay, without once meeting, we felt very personally looked-after with prompt and caring attention. Thanks, Deirdre! We were so pleased to arrive and find that every detail was just as advertised! It was cosy, more comfortable than we would have thought possible, suited in every way to our needs, neat as a pin and twice as clean (and one of us is a shameless clean-freak!) And what fun to have a lovely private and beautifully manicured outdoor area to step right out the door into. Sitting at the shaded patio table with a freshly brewed morning coffee was a treat even when the mornings were hot, as well as early in the evening when the fencing blocked the sun at the time of year. The neighbourhood is really lovely, very quiet residential, but short walks and/or drives to every convenience (again just as advertised) including U.T., and beautiful downtown Austin, and easy access in every direction to explore further afield. One of our favourite aspects of the cottage was that we were able to put away all our travelling paraphernalia (we explored North America by car for a couple of weeks before arriving). Everything fit into the large closet, kitchen cupboards, and large dresser, so that we really felt we were 'at home' after a couple of hours of settling in. We could go on about every little detail in the same glowing terms and we definitely hope to stay here again."
