"Two couples rented the Garden View of Maison Pemberton for our eight day introduction to Austin, Texas. The four of us have traveled together for over 20 years and this property is on the top two of our lists.
The neighborhood is comprised of well maintained homes with beautifully manicured laws and mature trees...great for your morning walks. The house is split into two separate two bedroom/bath rentals, an upper and ground level. We rented the ground level. There is a beautiful stone patio with seating for eight and a gas grill. We enjoyed wine on the shaded patio a few afternoons. The parking area, located in the back of the property can easily accommodate four or five cars. We do recommend a rental car as Austin has many areas to explore; however, Maison Pemberton's location is very convenient. There were two bikes available for guest use, but we did not utilize this amenity.
The interior is professionally decorated and the ambiance and space was perfect for our party of four adults. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking if there were not so many wonderful eateries to explore. We enjoyed the Keurig daily and usually ate a light breakfast in before exploring Austin. The hosts have compiled a book with a large selection of restaurants and activity recommendations, as well as other pertinent information about the area. Honestly, this property had everything we needed. The wi-fi was fast and reliable. The washer/dryer worked great and had detergent, stain remover and dryer sheets for our use. The bathrooms were supplied with very nice shower gels, shampoo, hand and body lotions and soap. There was adequate hot water for the four of us to shower. The linens on the beds were top notch and the beds were most comfortable.
It is obvious the hosts have traveled and understand the needs of their guests. The hosts live next door and were quickly responsive when needed.
Thank you Ken and Mary Beth for providing an oasis in Austin. Also, thanks for the lovely wine and chocolates!
Future guests, be certain to visit Central Market, a foodie's dream market. We also enjoyed the LBJ Library, State Capitol tour, Texas Museum, South Congress and The Domain. Restaurants we visited were Perla's, Carmello's, Torchy's, County Line, Perry's, Uchiko, Chez Zee, Snooze, Hopdoddy, Trudy's and Mozart's. Austin is a foodie town...enjoy!"
