"My family of 5 stayed here for three weeks over the summer, and we had an amazing time. My parents live in the hill country but we wanted to have better access to all the things that Austin has to offer ...
There is so much to do on South Congress, and if you can bear walking in the July heat, you can get there by foot, no problem! (I imagine during other seasons, it is pleasurable to walk to see the bats, Palmer Auditorium, Auditorium Shores, etc.) We were close to a park with a trail and lots of funky neighborhoods that were fun to walk and jog through. The proximity to SoCo restaurants and activities was amazing. We also drove our kids to camps in various parts of central/south Austin and rarely ran into traffic issues because of the location (admittedly we were staying south for most of the time).
The house is very cute and has everything you could need. The kitchen was stocked with everything you might need for cooking, and if we had issues, they were taken care of promptly . It seemed that the house was currently undergoing some minor renovations so I imagine it will be even better for the next guests! If you're looking to chill in south Austin and you're up for some short uber-ish rides to even more fun activities (campus, for instance), this is your place.
They do allow dogs but I would advise bringing only small or well-trained dogs to this property. Large dogs or dogs with a lot of energy could hop the back fence with no problem."
