  • What a great find

"My husband and I (and our cat) recently spent three months in this charming guesthouse to escape the Canadian winter. It was perfect. The house was clean, very tastefully appointed, and importantly, the bed was very comfortable. It was home away from home. The owners are friendly and very helpful, and cheerfully lent me their hand held beater when I needed to whip up some cream for dessert! The house is in a lovely, quiet area of Austin, but conveniently located a five minute drive to downtown, and close to major highways. Our stay here exceeded our expectations, and we will most certainly be back."

  • Perfect House for a large group!

"We had 12 people in our group and the house was very accommodating. Great location with a few bars, places to eat and a nice grocery store a very short walk away. Everything else is not far either. The property mangers were great. I had a question shortly after arriving and I got an quick and helpful answer. Highly recommend staying here for any size group."

  • IDEAL for hosting out of town wedding!

"Our son's wedding weekend was a big success thanks to our host Cathy. Since everyone was from out of town, the wedding party was able to stay together at this spacious, clean and comfortable home. We hosted the rehearsal dinner here also and it was the perfect set up for serving people and visiting. Cathy offered everything from the extra refrigerator space to the oversized salad bowl. The home is in a lovely, peaceful, country setting, less than 15 minutes from the wedding venue, Red Ridge Receptions, and even closer to Main St. Smithville. Our group enjoyed the pool table, the screened in porches, and the fire pit. There were plenty of beds and room to spread out. The bride and her bridal party benefitted from the oversized master bath and closet space, especially while having their hair and make up done. The owners went out of their way to assist us and lend a helping hand."

  • So quite, so peaceful

"My husband and I and dog Zaine enjoyed this place very much. We passed it up once before we found it, I don't suggest hunting for this place at night! I loved the outdoor shower but one of the doors was broken which my husband put back in place. Fixed it just enough so we could use it. The scenery on the drive to the cabin is very beautiful, but it's zig-zaggy and you must go very slow, especially in some spots. The first day we just stayed on the property. It is so peaceful and quite and the stars are oh so bright at night. There is no outside lighting and it is pitch black at night, so if you think you might want to sit at the picnic table at night take a lantern or something. There was a burn ban when we went which I was disappointed about because I love a good fire. But nothing anyone can do about that. We went to Garner State Park a short distance away, SO beautiful! There are only two restaurants open in Leakey, I personally suggest you cook at the cabin. We were going to do more sight seeing our last full day there, but they were putting down a new road surface, and because of the extreme hills they had to shut down the road. So on our last day there we were just stuck and could not go anywhere. BUT if you gotta be stuck, what a great place to be stuck!"
