  • Wonderful retreat

"Our family had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving week at the River View Guest house. Stepping into the house is like stepping back in time. (But with modern climate control). The multiple living areas made it very comfortable for a large group even with cold rainy weather. My grandson appreciated the modern TV to hook his game system to and the adults liked that it wasn't in the main room. The well stocked game closet came in handy. I have rented many properties on VRBO.COM and this was by far the best stocked. The kitchen has everything we needed to prepare and serve Thanksgiving dinner. Having basic groceries (flour, sugar, oil, coffee, spices) was really helpful. There is lots of seating and almost every seat has a quilt or throw to cover-up as needed-very cozy. The linen closet is abundant with plenty of towels, bedding and pillows. Blanco is a charming little town to explore and it is a good base for day trips. We enjoyed stepping out the back gate and into the State Park. The grandkids are excited to return when the water will be warm enough to get in. This trip we settled for hiking and watching the ducks."

  • Family Gathering

"Our first experience booking accommodations through VRBO (or, any similar website). I felt comfortable with the whole experience. The owner was responsive, answering emails within 24 hours. The Parke's condo is very nice, cute decor (some of the window blinds need to be replaced) and accommodated 8 adults just fine. I chose this condo because the third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds. So, everyone could have a bed w/o using the pull out couch. We loved the large balcony! The family room has seating for 6 in view of the TV (there are 3 remotes, one had no batteries). So, we just pulled up 2 dining rm chairs when gathered to watch the Olympics. Good times! One comment about the shower in the master bath: It is a large shower and the floor was very slippery. Either a mat or a grab bar, or both, should be considered for safety. Liked the Hollows and would definitely go back."

  • My New HOME AWAY FROM home!!!

"I want to start off by saying I am so sorry for not doing this sooner - My life is so hectic but today I had to take the time to do this review not just because I had an amazing Vacation but it will help the next tenant and not to mention the Easter Family. I absolutely Love this Home and Family!!!!! Our vacation was to visit my son for a laid back visit and attend my Grandson 3rd Birthday Party - My husband and I took our GROWN young adult kids (who had never been on a plane before) and my mother. First of all we arrive to a very nice quiet neighborhood that was tucked away but close to everything we needed. We were greeted with SMILES and HUGS - Mr. Easter and I had communicated so much before the trip that it was like going to see relatives. I love the Easter Family! They were very welcoming and showed us every detail of the most wonderful house that accommodated all of my family needs. It was VERY CLEANED and had the little extras that you don't get when you rent Hotel suites. THE BOOK -was a great idea - It answered any and all questions you may have concerning the home. Very informative. Everything was labeled - Loved it!! I felt like I was Home. I was cleaning to sitting on the back COVERED porch drinking my morning coffee to cooking. It was wonderful. My Son has made Texas his home for awhile so I know I will be back to visit soon- and I hope it's ok because this is my NEW HOME WHEN EVER I AM IN TEXAS! See you soon :)"

  • Excellent stay, hosts thought of everything!

"When we first arrived I was concerned about the neighborhood, I was traveling alone with two toddlers and planned to be coming and going late at night. I had nothing to worry about though and felt completely safe during my stay. We came to visit family so this was just a place to lay our heads and have a relaxing breakfast. It was perfect for us. The place was spotless and very comfortable. The bed was amazing and our hosts even allowed us to have a later checkout to peacefully recoup from the crazy hours we kept while visiting. They also lent us sunscreen when it turned out I forgot ours. You could hear a train from the studio but it never bothered even my youngest who is a very light sleeper. I never even noticed it once I turned the fan on. Parking was street parking, it was only an issue because we were driving in so late every night. The hosts were very considerate and even allowed me to park in the driveway when the street parking was a problem. We will happily return during future family visits."
