"Just returned from our 'Days Away' weekend; we're tired but can't wait for a replay! We had an incredible trip! The property was all it showed to be. Very clean and comfortable; great deck and the fire pit was the most inviting! Looking forward to a fall football weekend!"

  • Great place for kids, fishing, relaxing or a base for the hill country

"Overall, great place to stay. We will stay here again at the next vacation chance we get. I arrived to a clean house with ample space for a family of 5. It was pouring down rain the whole drive and I was very worried about how the trip would turn out. Upon arrival the neighbor's son saw my fishing gear and allowed me to use his casting net and helped stock his own bait bucket (for my use) to fish. When he reeled in his line there was already a nice sized catfish on! A few hours later the weather cleared and I launched my kayak to fish. I caught some nice sized bass and drum. While I was gone there was ample space for the wife and kids to stay entertained. That evening the kids and I fished until bedtime off the dock catching various drum and HUGE gar. See the rain scared all the catfish off but the drum and gar were a a lot of fun to catch. The next morning, on account of the rain we drove to the longhorn caverns and inks lake state park. The caverns were dry and inks lake was a lot of fun for the kids. That night the whole family fished into the night while it poured rain. It was a great family moment! The next day I took my son out on the kayak to see the falls and fish. We were striper hunting and came up with a few catfish but no stripers. So rain in the summer with abnormally cool weather=lots of gar and drum. The house was a perfect base station for visiting that area of the hill country. We bought our own supplies and anything we needed we could just ask the owners brother in law who lives across the way. By the way, the owners brother in law and wife were extremely nice and offered use of their paddle boat and even gave us some fishing tips. Their house is for sale too if your interested in it! We would buy it in a heartbeat if the timing wasn't off for us."

  • Great for family reunions

"Had a great time with eighteen family members. Plenty of room for sleeping and dining. Huge property for outdoor fun and games and much time spent in the river swimming, kayaking and canoeing. I had forgotten how humid central Texas can be in the summer but the air conditioning worked great."

  • Great and Hospitable

"I really enjoyed our stay here. The place was very clean and spacious. Very close to downtown with easy access to bus and the freeway. Our hosts were very responsive and when we met briefly were very nice. I would highly recommend."
